Attack on Titan The Final Chapters: Part 1 FULL LENGTH Reaction

FULL LENGTH REACTION

I fully agree on Eren. If the future is predetermined it's only because he would always choose it. He wants this and his talk about "the future memories have already happened" is just coping and dissociating from the present. It's easier to call it inevitable. Even him apologizing and explaining his selfish motivations to Ramzi proves he doesn't believe that himself.

Nerf Or Nothing

The bit where Mikasa asks what happened to the little boy and he says nothing yet hits so much harder when you directly see it and knowing he was JUST apologising to the kid (who doesn't understand what he is actually saying)

Nerf Or Nothing

And I JUST noticed Levi calls Hange 3 eyes instead of 4 eyes. Lmao

Alkaris

Pour one out for Hange.

This is my first time getting this far in the series myself. My theory is that Ymir is still, technically, the founder, and Eren is Eldian; I wonder if Ymir is subtly mind-controlling or influencing Eren in order to get her revenge against the people who ruined her as a living person.

And SiM made the last intro and this outro song. Just like "The Rumbling" it has a full length version you should check out.

Amazing reaction, Angela! Hange's last stand is always beautiful but devastating. Brilliantly animated as well. Great premonition about Floch. Eren is a not free and a slave to his anger and hate. Do you remember the Season 3 opening called Red Swan? There was a part of it where you see Eren staring off angrily into the horizon, and then little playful Eren runs by and try to get his attention. Obviously when we first watched it, we don't know what to make of it. But that sequence always hits me so hard now after watching this episode with the scene where Eren imagining his freedom and then his interaction and apology with Ramzi. It's as if little Eren wants to snap grown-up Eren to snap out of his anger and hate.

I recommend watching the movie version for the last chapters. Better quality and an extra scene at the end.

Golladan

She has mentioned before that she will watch them this way because it is better for her to do so separately. And that she will watch the extra movie scene at the end.

mikaren 918

That is great 👍 thank you for telling me

It's so amazing to be with you on this journey, so I just wanna share some interesting things. The songs of this film are incredible and I'll let you know some notable lyrics. Hange's song (Bauklötze) translated from German: "At that day there was a very fiery sunset -" "We'll fight until this hot wind takes our wings away." The end credit song (Under the Tree) is sung from a character's perspective: "A bird, a butterfly and my red scarf." "Annoying pain in my head - The things left unsaid." The whole song really tells us what goes through her head. I'm very hyped to watch your reaction on the final part, but I don't want this to be over. :,)

Yeah, interesting point. I almost see it as Eren being blinded by his rage and not noticing his childhood dream. Like what he said about Armin near the end of season 3, in Midnight Sun. Eren tells Levi about Armin's dream to look at the sea, and admits that, though he was only ever driven by hatred of the Titans, Armin is not like him, and has dreams of his own.

That is part of the reason, if he is not in the future influencing his own past he and the current world would not exist along with the entire chain of events in AoT season 1 to season 4; therefore it needs to happen, kind of like fixed points in time in Doctor Who.

Howie

That's a good interpretation too!

I knew Hange's death would wreck you, but I'm glad you found solace in how badass and on her own terms it was, plus her being reunited with Erwin with all the time in the world to complain about what a shit job it was dealing with Eren's crap.

Raymond Terry

Hange had me teary-eyed again. It always gets me. She was a badass to the very end. I had read the manga up to this point and Hange in the afterlife with Erwin and all the other lost souls was perfectly translated from page to screen. One other note, this aired in March 2023 and the series finale was November 2023.

Luka Poser

On some level, yes. But the last event that needs to be fixed in a specific way is in 'Memories of the Future', with Eren's will dominating Grisha to ensure Eren gets the Founder. After that, Eren could choose any future he wants. How I interpret him deciding "the future doesn't change after all" when he saves Ramzi from the alley, is him accepting that he can't help himself. His sense of righteousness wins against his moral logic of "it doesn't matter if I just kill him later". In the same way with the Rumbling, his selfishness wins against the moral logic of the Fritz/Reiss kings. He's giving up control not to 'fixed time', but to his own immovable impulses.

Akka

Hange's death utterly wrecked me. She was always like a mother figure to our main characters in the scouts, but she went out giving our heros a chance and doing it amongst titans, the thing she loves studying the most.

Now vinland saga... the opposite side of the coin

Ngl, I'll never be chill with Annie just quitting at the end. Who is she to talk about being tired of fighting while she's been hiding away in a rock for the last 4 years, while everyone else was actually suffering? She's the last person who should be complaining about fighting rn. Even Levi is locked in with like 25% of his body missing. "It's okay Annie this isn't your war" SHE LITERALLY STARTED THE WAR.

Kayla🫶

okay fine, i’ll watch. Hange’s death has never made me not sob my eyes out and i already have a fever so i don’t like my chances of surviving this.

Kayla🫶

watching this with a fever, i do not recommend. i’m only finished angela’s intro and i have tears running down my face. For context, i have seen this like a thousand times so this should NOT be making me cry 😭

Kayla🫶

just finished your reaction & am listening to your outro rn & this is most i’ve completed lost my shit sobbing since the first time when it came out. god. i’m emotionally broken right now 😭 (hange & levi are my favorite characters)

Tahlia Bro

she did not start the war, none of them did and honestly valid for virtually any of the characters to decide to quit fighting, including Annie. Plus I mean, hiding in a rock isn't like some chill relaxation time either, it's not the same kind of suffering, sure, but i mean she also suffered abuse whilst Eren, Armin, and mikasa were able to have a somewhat regular childhood. They've all been through a lot, at different times, in different places and ways, and they all have different limits. fighting is a pretty constant cycle that makes sense for at least someone to give up and sit out of (which she didn't even follow through with in the end)

Jacob Lagasse

You need to rewatch the show. If you think Eren can change the way things went you don't understand the chain of events that happened in the show. You. Are. Wrong.

Nerf Or Nothing

I don't normally cry at shows, but AOT is definitely one of the few that breaches that dam
