This episode is just loaded with so much. I'm not sure if I like the part having the dog eat chocolate, I think it's rather unnecessary to everything else thats going on. When they started out with the tv propaganda I was cringing, cuz it feels too true to life with the kind of things you see today. It's both funny and uncanny at the same time, but that book though... I lost it when they revealed it. Also the implied bestiality with the dog was just weird.

The dog eating the chocolate was necessary IMO because it reminds us that Butcher does give a shit when he wants to, he just shuts all that off when in mission-mode. It gives us that reassurance that he's not a full monster.

Agree. We see earlier in the season the tender moment between him and Terror and it might be a key to him keeping his humanity and possibly making a decision down the road.
