Death Note is probably the one I want to win, Demon Slayer I think has a shot at winning and I'd be okay with it, MHA is pretty likely to win and I do not like that show

MHA and SXF are a fun anime. You can't go wrong with either one. DN is trash IMO and DS is hype but a decent anime.

Funny. I can't seem to engage in drawn animation as I used to. I was, however, surprised that I like The Incredibles and Zootopia. The writing was very good and the characters were engaging.

I just loved the Sloths of the DVA. They reminded me of Vogons, only not so destructive. I wonder what Sloth poetry would be like? Kind of ruins the flow of Sonnet 116 doesn't it. It would give the rabbit a seizure! She would run screaming from the performance.

There was a time I thought you had reviewed castlevania. So that’s always my vote. It’s just four seasons and not a lot of episodes so should be a breeze. Not to mention it’s good.

As expected, MHA is in the lead and will prolly take it. I'm honestly annoyed about it. I would've taken literally any of the other ones because even if don't like it, it's at least not three and a half years of content that I'm just going to skip. I barely even had time to say "Thank god AoT is over" before it happened again except this time it's twice as bad.

I would recommend castlevanua because it is both great and short. She react to all 4 seasons in short order then do hero academy then something else

Lots of salty comments just outright bashing a show and not giving constructive comments as to why you may not like a particular show. And yes, it is possible to give constructive criticism without spoiling things. Just seems like there a lot of mad people before anything has been decided.

i hope theres an executive decision to not choose MHA because while i do think it starts fairly strong and ends really strong, in my opinion a lot of the middle kinda drags on, and with 170 episodes even doing 2 a week is close to 2 years until its finished. my vote goes to death note with castlevania a close second. but really id love to see vinland saga, orb, mob psycho 100

I really think Death Note should be first because it's much shorter. Then maybe even Spy X Family before a big anime like My Hero Academia. You can literally watch Death Note, Spy and prob Castlevania in the same span as MHA lol

Anymore it just seems like it's "cool" to hate on MHA because...it's popular? Superheroes? Some other reason that no one really wants to explain why? Personally, I think it's exceptional. Sure, with any show that runs for while it's going to have its ups and downs but as a whole, it really is quite good.

Been conflicted between wanting to see Angela learn All Might’s answer to Izuku’s question or getting to know the man at the end of the first episode of Castlevania, but I’m gonna have to go with Castlevania.

I binged the first 3 seasons of MHA a few years back and it was excellent. But yeah I can see people being salty due to its length. Also people are allowed to not enjoy what they don't enjoy. A mixture between both those reasons and I can get it.

Unfortunately that is just the nature of these things. I have tried to watch AoT twice now and while I love the premise I just can't get through the show. MHA will be a big commitment for any reactor but I also think Angela will love the show. Watch what you want, skip what you must and support while you can. I have had to drop subscriptions to reactors because the current schedule doesn't work for me but Angela is one I will always come back to.

Oh I totally agree that people are allowed to not enjoy what they don't enjoy. But often it just comes across as sour grapes and no real reasoning or just accepting if something else. For me it's less about whether someone enjoys something or not and more about how some come across. But to each their own.

MHA is an influential anime that does a lot well. It also has a lot of flaws. I could explain either one of those at length. But I won't; IMO an opinion poll is a poor place for that kind of discussion because it runs the risk of spoilers. OTOH, it feels like the perfect place for people to offer unvarnished opinions. I don't expect the people commenting that they love MHA to tell me why they love it even if I disagree. So, I won't be looking for the opposite of that either. In total, these opinions are a great barometer for what subscribers do and *don't* want. For whatever reason, MHA is a divisive anime, and I think that's a good thing for a creator to know. Even if they don't know why. Now, if people jump into the MHA reaction comments to talk trash, that's another story.

Follow-up: I think the rep of the MHA fandom might be skewing the discourse a bit too. Whether that rep is deserved or not... I ain't touching that one. Angela's probably gonna get enough of the usual grief for watching in dub. I just hope the agenda posting can be kept to a minimum. 😅

That's the problem with reactions in general. Even Death Note is a 1 week show for most of us, but it's 9 months of reaction time. No matter what wins that's gonna be the case.

Honestly they are all great, but I really feel like you will absolutely love the ride the My Hero takes you on. It's a Horikoshi's love letter to western superheroes and he hits all the tropes perfectly

Not everybody is here for anime and I assume most people are members but don’t engage. They might’ve signed up three years ago and then became a free member and now they never look at anything on Patreon. Anime doesn’t get a lot of views on my channel but I enjoy it

Personally, I'm not the target audience of MHA for a few reasons: primarily, I'm an adult, and I'm just kinda over high school settings and high school aged characters. I'm not in high school anymore, I've watched so many anime that takes place in a school, I'm just kinda over it. I like being able to relate to characters, particularly adult-aged characters with adult problems.

Castlevania! It's a bit gory, but has really good everything! MHA is good fun, but is really long. It does use some character archetypes and writing styles that to some (a moderate minority) can be grating and tasteless. I don't think it would be too bothersome to you though. Death Note good, as well as nice and short. A lot of cool intrigue. I haven't seen Spy X Family, and have heard mostly good things about it, but I've also heard some really "weird" things about it. Demon Slayer is good, and has awesome action, but is a bit repetitive.

Spy X Family isn't my favorite, but it gets my vote because it's the most Angela-coded and I'll always vote for a Cloverworks anime (even with the messy WIT co-production dynamics in this case). But also: because you made the executive decision to watch Castlevania regardless of poll results. 😁

I take MAL/IMDB rankings with a heavy grain of salt. They're prone to both recency bias and review bombing in either direction. I pay even less attention to Rotten Tomatoes and anything else with critics scores. Film critics in legacy media were behind the times on anime for years. You also never know when a reviewer is being sponsored to review something as a part of a viral marketing campaign. Many disclose that, but many don't. Then there's awards shows. Oscar/Golden Globe voting has known problems with system-gaming and long-standing biases. That's eroded the legitimacy of those awards over time. And the discourse around CR's awards as a popularity contest is well known at this point. That leaves box office. Yes, it's very impressive. DS' animation is *stunning* and keeps people coming back. But there's a perception that it's carried by its animation. Whether that's deserved or not, it plays a part in polls like these.

Well per youtube she is watching castlevania anyway so we can kind of just ignore it on this poll. The real question is how does youtube voting for death note and patreon voting for my hero playout?

maybe she adds up all of the percentages and goes from there? Since MHA is tied for #1 here (which is just number 1 bc she decided to watch castlevania anyways) and 2nd place on youtube i feel like MHA might be the one that wins. Its either MHA or Death Note for sure though.

MHA wouldn't be my first rec for a newbie; however, with this being a react channel, I have seen other creators react to multiple anime at once, and MHA tends to outperform them. The added bonus comes with you being incentivised to finish the series, so for a React channel specifically, I think it's best. Selfishly, I just want more reactions of it in dub.
