This is definitely one of those episodes that feels like it should be classified as filler but I find too delightful to care

In a way yeah but in a way every episode is a character moment and this is just one of Ed's : p Plus I'd love to hear a psychologists take on the trips Spike Jet and Faye took. It's a small detail but to me kinda shows their subconscious views on life.

Downeast Beast

Finally, my time has come! I'm a mycologist (mushroom scientist) and professional cultivator of gourmet and medicinal mushrooms! Domino was growing on logs, which is a very common way of growing Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) mushrooms and many other wood loving species. However, what's interesting is that the design of the psychoactive mushrooms in this episode were based around the Panther Amanita (Amanita pantherina), which can't actually be cultivated currently with our level of technology. I give it a pass because there are hot, livable deserts on Jovian moons. Amanita pantherina is a *mycorrhizal* species, meaning it cannot produce fruits unless the mycelium forms a symbiotic relationship with a host tree. Its effects are closer to a hypnotic, hallucinogenic deliriant, and *can* kill you, especially as a result of the delirium (falling, drowning, etc). It is *strongly* recommended that you do *not* seek out these mushrooms for a fun trip. You'll either wake up in the hospital, in your underwear on the Golden Gate Bridge covered in chocolate sprinkles and hoof prints, or dead.

I remember this episode being one of my favorites, such a wild and whacky adventure with Ed and Ein going from place to place. Ein was saying "Thank you" to the cow, and it responded "It's alright."
