The Mist FULL LENGTH Movie Reaction

FULL LENGTH REACTION

Comments

Nathanael Fuller (Polygon Wizard)

I haven't watched this in years! I absolutely love this movie, but that bleak, devastating, gut-punch of an ending means I rarely rewatch it. However, your reaction is a good excuse to do so. Now I just need to find the spare time and mental fortitude I'm gonna need...

Patrick Waldeck

Steven King is notorious for writing crappy endings, the book version on The Mist just ends on them driving into the distance with no real resolution. He LOVED the changes the director made for the movie and was mad he hadn't thought of something that crazy.

Brian

Don’t know what’s going on. I’ve got Amazon Prime and synched “The Mist” to Angela and her video is running fast and won’t keep in sync to the movie on Prime.

Nathanael Fuller (Polygon Wizard)

I am watching on Prime and about 15 minutes into the movie. Everything is still properly in sync for me. Are you sure you are watching the correct movie? It should be The Mist from 2007 starring Thomas Jane. I think there are a couple other movies with the same title out there. Or maybe your YouTube player is set to faster playback speed?

Adrian Duenas

Not only has Frank Darabont delivered some phenomenal Stephen King adaptations, he helped get The Walking Dead off the ground. He was Season 1’s showrunner and he directed the pilot.

ButtyOh

FYI ths painting isn't Clint Eastwood. It's a reference to the main character in Kings worst series of books, the dark tower

Bruce Bromley

You caught all the Walking Dead alums, save one, Jeffrey DeMunn, who was Dale. He also has a small part in Shawshank as the prosecutor.

Cei Stockport

I'm petty. I'd have reversed the car through the shop front multiple times as I left.

Tiny Octopus

I don't know if you caught it. The army and survivors are coming from the direction where they left. So if they hadn't left the store, they'd have been rescued . Also, I may have cackled when they were going into the drugstore and you proclaimed your absolute loathing of spiders. If it helps, my daughters reacted the exact same way to the spider hatching. If you hear there's a tv series that expands on this, don't waste your time. It only lasted one season, and it didn't have a real conclusion. Movies that I can't watch again, even though they were good movies? The Grey (with Liam Neeson), and The Road (with Viggo Mortenson). You should watch them though. :D

ButtyOh

It's a dark thought but technically Carmody was correct. The mist lifted once the child and the lady had been "sacrificed"

Saga Mackenzie

I have to say, I think i'm in the minority in thinking the original novella ending is better, since personally I prefer the more ambiguous resolution. Otherwise though this is one of my favourite of King's short stories (and I think one of the first King stories I ever read back when I was waaay too young!)

Nathaniel Castle

I had that issue for the first 10 minutes then weirdly it seemed to stay in sync

Nathaniel Castle

Brutal movie, not gonna lie my housemate hates horror films so its nice to watch a horror film "with someone else", you freaking out during the pharmacy spiders was a comfort for my own freakout lol. Technically dolph lundgren is the original Punisher

ButtyOh

That's basically what happened in the TV show adaptation (sort of)

MaxValPlatt

Remember watching this movie in the cinema. Whole auditory was clapping when Mrs. Carmody was...you know...near the end of the movie :)

MaxValPlatt

Actually, because of your reaction, I remembered that I was planning to watch 2017's TV series "The Mist" some years ago but forgot ) I heard that this show is very mid, but still, kinda praised for general atmosphere and depressing tones ) Also, need to watch Gus Birney perfomance in it )

Skipp

The Mist is one of the all time great horror movies. Amos'(The Expanse) world view comes to fruition here. When Civilization stops, peoples tribes shrink. I would also like to recommend "It Follows" and "The Crazies" for some good horror.

Pistols O'Brien

You spelled "best" wrong. ;) Lol I disagree but you're entitled to your opinion. I know it's very divisive.

ButtyOh

Yeah. I like King and ive read most of his earlier stuff, but not a fan of the dark tower books

Merkavar

I just watch it for the ending :D

Brian

Yeah, watching Angela’s YouTube above and “The Mist” 2007 from Amazon Prime (known it when I bout the 4K 4 Disc physical release when it was released. Love the black and white version of the movie!)

Cei Stockport

For justice you need the legal system. It would just be my personal parting 'fuck you'. maybe 'spiteful revenge' would be a better word.

Nathanael Fuller (Polygon Wizard)

The Dark Tower books and the other ones that tangentially tie into that universe are my favorite King books. Maybe one of these days we'll get the good film/TV adaptation that the Dark Tower deserves.

OMG THAT WAS DALE! I thought I knew that guy! I guess he needed to have a bucket hat for it to jog my memory!
