The woman Doctor was played by June Lockhart who was in the tv series Lost in Space and played the mother of Bill Mumy who plays Lennier. She said Astronauts had told her she inspired them to go into the space program.

Jason Glynn

What if Babylon 4 went into the past?

Stephen Collette

Just a reminder - don't watch the opening credits for season two until the third episode. There was a spoiler in the opening that they corrected later. Depending on where you're watching it you may or may not have a version that is non-spoilery.

Jason Glynn

Angela I can't see of or see what watching after the part with London talking to the centauri can't see whats going on

Texas Anla'Shok

Little tidbit: JMS wrote this while suffering the wort flu he'd ever had to that point. He describes himself as bein near delirious at times and has no memory of writing this episode. He knows he wrote it, but does not recall the process as all.

Arttu Pylkkö

He cheats in poker by using his... poker.

Fr. Brench

lookit you sowing seeds of doubt :P

Jeff

By using 1 of his... pokers...

TM2

You're not wrong about a crazy two parter...just an episode ahead of yourself :P

The black band/ribbon over the psi corps badge is based on real-life traditions around funerals and mourning someone's death. Angela: Do those [Centauri] things get tangled? Me: Don't cross the streams! And, thank you, Nathaniel!

James Fleischman

Sinclair: I'm still waiting for an explanation, gentlemen. Londo: Yes, and I'm prepared to give you one, Commander, as soon as the room stops spinning. Sinclair: This station creates gravity by rotation. It never stops spinning. Londo: Well, you begin to see my problem.

Those of us of a certain age (ahem) remember her as Lassie's TV mom. Long & distinguished career on stage, screen & TV and was the quintessential* TV mom (*a word I never get to use enough and cant spell for beans).

John

No, there isn't. On Amazon Prime, there is no spoiler in the credits. She's posted that she's watching on Prime.

MertzRocks

*Ahem* Those of you of a certain age might even recall Lassie during its original run. I remember it from reruns only, as I was born 10 years after it first ran, but I did watch it as a kid. I also watched Lost in Space (also only from reruns lol) and June was great in both shows - and THIS one too! 😁 p.s. Mark Rolston who played Mueller in this also played Bogs, the de facto leader of the 'Sisters' in The Shawshank Redemption. Edit: okay you realized that, Angela, and I jumped the gun lol. But: He also played Drake, one of the Marines in Aliens. 🤘😎🎸

MertzRocks

Angela, haven't you noticed we haven't seen one of the characters in a VERY long time...? Like not since Mr. Morden paid a visit to B5...

Ben Liddell

The men have 6, and the women can accommodate that. We look like the centari, but wef fit better with narn

Mark Ten

I thought of it as something similar to an executioner's black hood, but I like your explanation better

Stephen Collette

good to know. i have the DVD's and when it's been on other services, they have the original (spoiler) opening sequence.

Barry Carr

Bear in mind who wrote the episode... 👀 Iykyk

Mike-L

Though I am sure there is fan art regarding what Lando looks like au naturale. But I highly recommend not searching for it.

Scott Sandler

I’m so excited to see where Sinclair’s story goes

Scott Sandler

She was also Michelle Tanner’s preschool teacher on Full House. The one she tried to set up with Danny. And she only died like this year or last m

Matthew Vandiver

It hurts my heart a little to see a name like "June Lockhart" appear on a screen and to see no reaction whatsoever. June played Bill Mumy(Lennier)'s mother on Lost in Space(1965-1968).

Enskipp

S1 finale next. Freaking FINALLY!!! :)

bakamitai

A lot of interesting concepts in this one. Which is worse for the criminal, the death penalty or death of personality? And which is a better approach for society? 🤔

Vexkun

There is a spin off series, only lasted 13 eps, kinda got the Firefly treatment.. And one of the TV movies was a failed plot of a 2nd series. You get there in time. :)

Garrick Smalley

I am okay with the death of personality. For me it is an easy form of rehabilitation.

Michael Kemmet

While I agree that Franklin is arrogant(I'm sure THAT won't bite him in the ass again at some point - lol), a little context might help. At this point in US history(80s-90s) we were seeing a rise in charlatan faith healers and other con artists; many specifically relating to prosperity gospel and the like. "Call this 1-900 number and you'll be healed. Only $4.99 a minute." A science fiction fan of the time would be more likely to side with Franklin in the beginning until we get the reveal that the device actually works. On the flip side, maybe you caught it in the edit, but you missed a nice little moment between Franklin and Laura. As Franklin is leaving just after the reveal that she's giving her life as penance(and just before he asks Janice out on a date), he looks Laura in the eyes and very deliberately calls her "doctor". Considering her medical license had been stripped away years ago, it was his way of saying he thought she had more than redeemed herself in his eyes, and he considered them equals.

Wild_Lee_Coyote

When Centauri hold each other in a passionate embrace, they hold on with everything they got.

stephen Hopkinson

their is good reason why the actor playing Sinclair was missing in this episode

Baulderstone

This is a really good episode, even if it seems a bit small in scale after "A Voice in the WIlderness" and "Babylon Squared". I think scaling down was smart of JMS as it gives a little breathing room before the finale rather than constantly trying to maintain an epic tone through the whole end of the season. It's smart pacing. Speaking of breathing room, I agree with you about taking some time to think after an episode, Angela. You can't have theory time if you don't stop to theorize between episodes. And TV shows from the pre-streaming days just assumed you were going to have a whole week (if not a whole summer) to ponder between episodes. For my part, I was working in a TTRPG/comic store when Babylon 5 first aired, and dissecting each episode with customers was as much fun as actually watching the show.

Baulderstone

Off topic, but I just want to say how much I am loving your Community reactions with Drew. You two have such great chemistry. I think you two might be my favorite couple-based channel on Youtube.

Richmeister

Now the story kicks it up a notch. Buckle up!

Peter Powis

Her giving some of her lifeforce for others was so noble. Couldn't help but shed some tears...

Roy Graham

*Noting a comment for future episode*

Roy Graham

*Noting one of your comments for a future episode* G'kar is still out there scheming as usual. Never fear.

Tranquil_Gnome

He was also in Aliens as well as Shawshank.

Jeff

I believe the Narn were redefining territorial boundaries during most of Season 1. So I think he was more plotting than scheming up to this point, 🤔.
