Hello, everyone.

So you know how last week, I caveat'd the plans for the next Progress Report with "so unless something catastrophic happens"?

Well, funny story.

Long story short is all the work I had done over that entire last week had to be scrapped, and I'm basically starting over the entire Peasant-outfit-application process.

I believe that I noted how there was a possibility that attempting to fix the rigging of the outfits (see bottom left of the post image) would end up breaking everything. As I had anticipated, that happened.

What I didn't anticipate was the break being so catastrophic it results in any project file with the outfits applied immediately crashing SFM, making them completely unsalvageable.

Hence why I had to scrap all the work I had done and restart mostly from zero. I say "mostly", because at least the intermediate tools I had written along the way, as well as the late installation of the DXVK library, are still available and usable. So while I have to apply the outfits again, it won't take nearly as long sum total.

While fixing the rigging itself was fairly straightforward, fixing the bodymorphs was not. With 109 unique meshes to correct across 20 bodymorphs each, it ended up taking the bulk majority of the week to do. And even after all that, it still isn't correct, as evidenced by this image I took earlier today.

Thankfully the fix here was magnitudes simpler, albeit far less graceful: I just slight push the mesh out in all directions, making it "puffier". The clipping here is caused by micro-differences between the different morphs - while each individual morph has its clipping fixed, the problem is that these models have multiple morphs applied at once.

I could go through and make fixes for every possible combination of morphs, but that is an utterly incomprehensible amount of work. The cheaper solution is to just puff out the mesh and hope it fixes any micro-clipping.

I need to go through and apply that to all the outfit pieces yet. This was just a field-test to make sure it doesn't cause any issues. I figured it shouldn't, but what I figure and what should be both mean absolutely nothing in this cold and uncaring world.

Doing so is my major goal for the day. I've done the first 5 project files over again, so I can use those as a litmus test to make sure it doesn't all crash. If it does, then it's only 5 files I have to do a third time. Inconvenient, but better than having to do 24 files over again at least.

Of course, that wasn't the only problem I had to deal with over this past week. Oh no, we can't have things be simple.

I believe I also made mention of "there is a possibility of two males having the same unique name, which would cause all kinds of problems. But we'll burn that bridge when we get to it." Well, here's that bridge now:

The problem was that I was able to reroll some outfits just fine, but others simply refused to reroll. It took four hours of tracing data flow and being utterly confused how it'd go "all fine, all fine, all fine, all fine, wrong" with no discernible reasoning as to why it was going wrong where it did - after the change was applied, after it was saved to file, and after it was loaded for application, but before the application itself.

I don't want to get too deep in the weeds here, so instead I'll just say that it had to do with the fact that some males with the same unique name existed in different scene groups. You may recall that I used the scene group names to keep track of who did what - Anna's group, Elsa's group, walking group, waiting group, etc.

I ended up spending another four hours trying various solutions to fix this problem. It ended up being a rabbit-hole that led down to the very foundational logic of the Peasantifier tool. Fixing it properly would have required rewriting the entire thing from the ground up, basically. The core of the problem laid in the fact that a character can exist in multiple groups over time - for example, one of Elsa's lads could later be a Walker, in one of the scenes of lads swapping out.

Instead, I elected for the simplest solution: save all of the data into a single data file, rather than a separate data file per scene group. This loses the ability to keep track of who goes where, but that is ultimately unnecessary information - it provides some truly immoral calculus, but I've already provided those nasty statistics anyways. It also eliminates duplicates of the same male across different groups, meaning that said nasty statistics were slightly over-inflated. Which sadly means the final count is going to be lower than the 1200 total lads the ladies fuck with. But it is what it is.

Beyond the Frozen video, the Pharmmetra Micro series has been sent out for recording and sound design! I am excited to announce that BordeauxBlack and MidnightDatura have returned to reprise their roles of Pharah and Symmetra respectively, as well as Milly Stern returning from Overbreed Episode 0 to voice Mercy. Right now, we're hoping to have the audio come in by next Monday.

That being said, that is a floating target - Milly isn't certain she will be able to find the time to record this week, amongst all her other responsibilities; and Bordeaux is currently recovering from a minor illness, so she's not certain exactly when she'll be fit to record. But that is the target, at least.

Amusingly, when I first brought up the idea of doing some sound design before the voice audio comes in, PornSFX was at first skeptical. "I think I'll wait until the audio comes in, but I'd like to see what you have." And then once I showed it to him, he immediately changed his mind, "wow this is great I'm going to start putting together stuff right away and hopefully I won't have to change anything when the voice comes in". So, I think that's a good sign.

Beyond Pharmmetra, both the Marie/Honoka Micro series, which is currently being worked on during the Sunday streams; and the Primordium Episode 2 adaptation to Micros, have made some respectable progress.

Not too much of note to report for the Marie series, other than Episode 5 (where the gif is taken from) has sort of moved past the original design ethos of Micros, with more complex animation and cinematics. But I'm willing to roll with it, since it isn't taking up time from my production schedule, being a stream project. When I get around to working on it offline, then it will fall into the standard Micro production schedule.

for Primordium, you might have noticed that there are 3 different animations shown in the gif. In reality, these are actually all built off a single animation, as part of the "keep it simple, stupid" design ethos of Micros - I simply toggle different pieces on and off, and voila, a simulacrum of animation diversity.

Writing the Ciri episode has proven an altogether different task though. She obviously can't talk during her sequence, given her mouth is preoccupied. And Triss and Yennefer have already fucked themselves into cum-comas by this point, so they can't provide commentary either. Which just leaves Ciri alone with her thoughts, provided via internal monologue.

I've ended up rewriting that monologue several times now, and need to rewrite it again. The complication comes from the fact that Ciri in this series is more nuanced than Triss and Yennefer. Where Triss and Yennefer are outwardly shameless sluts, Ciri is more pretentious and thinks herself above debasing herself in pursuit of pleasures of the flesh. That is, of course, until she actually gets around to that pleasure of the flesh.

The complications only compound when taking into consideration that Ciri's kink is more cerebral than Triss and Yennefer's. Yennefer is the simplest of the three - she likes cocks in her butt, not exactly Shakespeare here. The Primordium sampling of Episode 2 exemplifies that by her using the magic to push her anal obsession beyond physical limitations: three cocks in her ass at once is a triumph; nine cocks in her ass at once is pure fantasy, and one that Primordium allows her to experience.

Similarly, Triss is very sensual. She likes feeling things, generally cocks in all her holes (and in her hands [and between her tits {and in her armpits <and...>}]), but she's also a sucker for having firm hands squeezing, slapping, and rubbing her. The Primordium sampling provides this by allowing her to feel the sensations of having ten clones of her all fucking at once - and experience all ten of them cumming at once. It's a complete sensory overload, and is pure bliss for her.

Ciri, by contrast, is big into submission. She is thrilled at the idea of being physically overpowered by monsters bigger and stronger than her, and being reduced to a slab of fuckable meat, to be used for their physical pleasure and then discarded. She wants to feel weak and defenseless, which is a far cry from her reality as both a Witcher and a magic-user with Elder blood. And she wants to be completely debased and treated like a sex doll, rather than a person.

That's all well and good being described in the abstract. The challenge I am facing is how I actually integrate that into an inner monologue, without it becoming too overbearing and cerebral. I can explore it in depth without issue - the problem is how to explore it with brevity. The drafts I have written and discarded for Ciri have ended up being three, four, even five times longer than both Yennefer's and Triss's episodes combined. Which, for all being achieved without any additional animation beyond the opening sequence, I find to be technically impressive. The problem is it's just too damn long.

How do I communicate to the viewer that Ciri is into all these things, in a 90-second clip, without it just being the most stilted and awkward "A tentacle monster just grabbed me I sure hope it overpowers and debases me!" dialogue? How do I make it feel both natural and brisk, while still clearly communicating that Ciri is absolutely into this? These are the questions I have yet to answer, but I'll keep hacking away at it.

At any rate, that's all for now. Hopefully next week will see me ready to start the Frozen renders. We'll see how that goes.

Until then, everyone!
