Taylor

So he DOES know quite a bit…. And damn is he tall! Holy smokes.

Livi

!!!!!!!!VIVI’S NOTE

Sang Steppenwolf

Sherwin knows about Vivi??? First Raz now her??? WHO IS THIS DUDE? Also what message??? I want the Fab Four to reunite SO FREAKING BAD.

Fond Phantom

aha, i had a gut feeling! so those letters in the box next to sulvain’s bed are sherwin’s? is he some kind of linguist, anthropologist or archeologist? and how much does he KNOW? because if sulvain trusts him enough to decipher this message that surely must deal with magoi-related revelations… then it’s a lot. how long they’ve been friends for?

Fond Phantom

i hadn’t noticed the height difference til you pointed it out and now i’m blushing 😳

Taylor

Yeah initially I (and probably several others) thought Sherwin was a classmate of Sulvain’s, but now it seems like it’s a different sort of relationship? Friendly but almost contractual too?

Eibhlin Brennan

Is Sherwin a... peculiar? I forget if we have a word for different than regular human people. Ive been watching A Discovery of Witches and so kept wanting to say creature. Also I like him. I call dibs. Mine now! *adds Sherwin to the closet of precious cimanim rolls*

Sang Steppenwolf

I thought the same thing! Like Sul has to REALLY trust this guy to have told him about the people he cares about. But that also begs the question, does he also know about Sul's immortality? And if so, does Sherwin cover for him when need?

Livi
>>149562125

Im like 99% convinced Sherwin is his apprentice. So many questions though!!!! What if these two met like during the great depression or something??? I'm going to go flip a table now (positive)

Laura

A cipher from Vivi... does this mean Sulvain has also been separated from her all this time and is trying to find her?

Fond Phantom
>>149562125

i wonder if it’s like the relationship sul had with huygens? like they shared letters for a while and then met in person. i wonder if sulvain told him about his past with vivi and raz because sherwin had to understand the context of the notes… ahhhhh!!!!

Livi
>>149562125

Oooo yeah Sherwin's like what's with this college student and his secrets?? And then Sulvain tells him everything and Sherwin's like oh, ohmygod, yeah let me help you. (Rolls up his sleeves)

Eibhlin Brennan

Possibly? But Raz isnt a Magoi and he's long lived. And i assume its possible there are other funky people out there in the world who arent magic but still special? I dunno. I just got back from vacation and still have mushy what is time brain.

Missiek43

So, my question has been answered, Sherwin is taller. I just read through everyone's theories and conversation. I swear I love all of your minds! So many great theories and thoughts!! I cannot possibly add more. It just pains me to think that Sulvain hasn't been able to find her for awhile...and why would Vivi need to write in symbols like this? Was Hargrave after her or trying to find Sulvain's location when he was asleep? Or did the French government get involved and start hunting Magoi?!

Peyton

He’s tall…so he must be Aussie 🧐

Fond Phantom
>>149562125

that’s why i would love if sherwin turns out not to be magoi at all, just a very curious human who crossed paths with sul and just uncovered all of this. the character trope of A Guy in the middle of magical beings and creatures is so funny to me 🤭

Fond Phantom
>>149562125

sherwin also comes off as a very insistent guy to me, and not in an off-putting way or anything like that, but in a “i want to help you, but you gotta help me to do that, so tell me everything”. like he genuinely wants to understand and doesn’t want to waste time dancing around it.

Nekochan

He's taller than SULVAIN?! 😳 Also VIVIIIIII OUR PRECIOUS VIVIIIIII

Alyssa

Another page tomorrow?? You’re spoiling us, for real 💕💕

Neko-san

A sign from Vivi!! Can't wait to learn more about that!! But also, very nice to see that Sherwin is apparently so dependable that he is informed about Vivi and Raziol and seems to know quite a lot about Sulvains past. Great friends gathering around Sulvain once again! 😊

Iselin

so Vivi is still missing ,how many years exactly, Sherwin could not be older than 30, are there more immortal magoi...

Alys

LOVE a good magician academic. Such a fun archetype. Sherwin is the witchy professor in Suspiria. He is an instructor of cryptic arts. I love him.

Iselin

in this chapter we haven't seen Sulvain communicating yet, is he still using the same sign language or write notes..🙂..too many questions.

Elora Kay

Vivi mentioned!!!

Livi
>>149562125

Aw dang I love this. That would be really funny. Just a regular guy. I really want him to cross his arms and go "Hmph!"

Lee

Traveled to the top of a mountain for this page. Not disappointed. Is Mr. Paint Brand immortal?? I guess it’s good he’s helping out. How long has he known about Sulvain? How did Vivi send that message? How long ago? So many questions, and I can’t stay on this mountaintop forever >_<

Blusalee

I was interested in learning more about Sherwin when he was first introduced, but now I am genuinely and delightfully intrigued. Is he also an immortal, or just someone who is a friend/helping Sulvain? Is he more than a friend? How much does he know? I remember the authors said Sulvain was looking for a student, so is he a necromancy disciple? Or just a really trustworthy person that Sulvain trusts. Perhaps he studies archaeology/ antiquities/ anthropology… he strikes me as a Professor Indiana Jones type off the bat… just needs the hat. And we see that Sulvain is indeed taking classes. I have a few guesses (along those same lines) about what he is studying but will have to wait to see for sure. I also can’t wait to learn more about Vivi and her coded message. How old is that paper? Will this be a quest/find the magic cipher item chapter? Why did she need to encode it? Can Sulvain speak now or does he still use sign language? I guess he is still going by the same name after all this time… And where is Hargrave? I too am interested in how he must update all his paperwork every decade or so. (I’m surprised he hasn’t changed his name.) Plus, what is his last name? lol.

Sherwin mentioned “all these damned years” and it makes me wonder how long he’s been around? 👀🤔

GrantedDrop

SECRET VIVI NOTE SECRET CIPHER OOOOOO

LostGallifreyan

Noooo! I'm not ready for Vivi to be gone! 😭😭😭

Rin Sparrow

I still haven’t really accepted this change of hundreds of years. And now we’re in the 1960s I’m guessing? I’m of course going to keep reading but definitely still have whiplash from the change. (And I’ll always mourn the change of fashion and loss of Raz’s innocence. 😮‍💨)

Mangsney

He hasn't found Vivi either?? 😨😭 I'm glad he seems to have found a dependable new ally, but our boy needs his old friends!
