Is Raziol suddenly realizing something in the third panel? “What does he mean? My life threads are not like his because mine are alive?” Did Raziol just realize that Sulvain isn’t alive??? I don’t think they ever discussed life threads together though, so maybe he’s just remembering the bite.

I knew it!!! Raziol’s life threads never fully snapped! That’s probably how he could tell Sulvain’s lips felt cold at the masquerade—because he’s still warm and alive. 🥹 (Not all vampires are!) I hope the hints Sulvain just dropped are enough for Raziol to make the connection that Sulvain is undead—although it would be even better if Sulvain explained it to him. Maybe we’ll get some more backstory?

Ooo, that’s a good point! That was a pretty big bomb for Sulvain to drop and just move on from. Based on the way the conversation has been going so far, it might shift back to the questions he has for Sulvain rather than answers to the ones Sulvain asked. I think it’s also possible that Raziol is shocked Sulvain knows about the creature. He wasn’t there when Sulvain killed Luc and sealed the creature away, and I can’t remember if Hargrave mentioned anything in front of them. He also doesn’t know Sulvain had been investigating it before it attacked him. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. 🥰

I’m curious to learn if Sulvain is calling them “life threads” instead of “ligelumes” to make it easier for Raziol to understand, or if there was a change to the language over time. Or maybe it’s just the literal signed interpretation?? Also that last panel of Raziol is so frickin’ gorgeous! And his eyes when Sulvain brings up the creature! 💔💔 We know he was researching starkitty a little back in the library and maybe now can at least get a few more answers about what happened to him. And Sulvain, of course!! Ahhh I’m loving ALL of this!

Can Sulvain sense Raziol's ligelimes now?! I remember when Raziol "died" Sulvain saw them stretched thin, to the point of breaking, then he couldn't sense them anymore. What happened that he can see them now? Was he just panicked and unable to connect to him back then?

So I had this terrible thought in my head pop up, and if I have to suffer I'm taking people down with me. "When I saw you in the church, I feared it's effect would claim you in time. But you live." So he sent Raziol away, with the promise that he would try to find him should he wake... all with that idea in mind. That promise was a lie, regardless of him not knowing how long he'd be asleep. Sulvain crying as he watched him leave wasn't just because of uncertainty. He was under the impression that Raziol would die anyway.

I'm excited to explore more of KaiJu's spin on vampires! If Sulvain sensed a traditional vampire, it would probably feel very similar to himself. But Raz feels very much alive to him, and he never actually died to be reanimated. Can't wait to learn more about this!

But it's such a good word and makes so much sense! Patricia C. Credentials used something similar in her Enchanted Forest Chronicles series. Like if The Force was tangible and could be tugged and pulled like invisible strings to make magic happen. Very cool concept.

I assume the ligelumes sensing may be distance sensitive and you can't just easily tell which are who's (since he didn't know who's they were and figured out it was Raziol from the cloak) And perhaps in a stress of dying they are easy to pick up? "Louder" almost?

I think it had to do with the artifact Hargrave used on him too. It weakened his powers a lot, which was Hargrave’s intention. He said some of the effect lingered, and it even made it difficult for him to fight the other necromancer in the woods. So maybe he couldn’t sense them consistently or from as far of a distance as usual.

Just as I was getting used to seeing Raz with short hair, that last panel hit me. He looks absolutely gorgeous. I am so happy that they've finally reunited and they're slowly beginning to talk things out. They have a long way to go but I'm excited to see how things go!

I WAS THINKING ABOUT IT TODAY 😭 about a scene where he take it out and give it to him back. But it's probably so fragile it's not wearable anymore. I mean if it is wearable I won't complain too. We have a vampire and undead I won't be telling that a cloak surviving 300 years is too unrealistic 😂

Based on how long Sulvain has had that cloak (even all the way back to the 1100s) I’m betting it has some sort of charm on it to help preserve it. I get the feeling Raziol kept it too. 😆❤️ If he did, Sulvain will probably feel really touched. That cloak has a long history, almost as long as his own, and I’m sure it’s precious to him. I have a theory that it was given to him by his master after he was raised from the dead, and that Udaya eventually embroidered it for him. 🥰 I went back, and he’s wearing the cloak with his crusades armor, BUT it hasn’t been embroidered in that picture. And KaiJu mentioned the pattern is an Indian design, and we know Sulvain has always loved embroidery from the bonus comic. I can’t wait to see more of his backstory. 💕
