Rating bombing has made a bit of the shine wear off the RR experience, though Throne of Time is actually still doing much better than average. I don't feel like working on that anymore, though, I wanna do game stuff! Unfortunately, things were in a weird place this week.

TLS: The update is out and nothing has gone horribly wrong, so this should not be using much of my time in the near future. In theory I could integrate the new art from Annikath, but this will take a small amount of time and is not a priority task.

DStP: After all the work I did on Minus World recently, this is basically in the programmer's court. Nothing I could do to speed this along even if it was top priority. Kickstarter beta testing will probably eat up some time in the next month or so, however.

Slave Rehabilitator: Now we're getting into active territory. I've done some work with Kali finishing the new characters previewed earlier, and some work on the randomized patient system. Earlier this year I finished much of the management logic, but I've run into an issue with Python syntax and I hired somebody to help out, but they aren't finished yet. There is nothing stopping me from doing standard dialogue/plot with the new characters, but I'm not in the right frame of mind for it.

Omnipocalypse: This is the one that's gnawing at me. I've done some work on the "phase two" part of the loop and there's no reason I couldn't do more. This phase is meant to be more open, with character development for any characters who survived the early stages. I haven't been able to get my act together and sink significant time into this yet.

Times like these, I try to at least make progress on sundry secondary tasks, like the supplemental content you see from time to time. There was less on the to do list this time, but I did find myself working on the TLS stories I've mentioned in the past. Several are finished now, and at some point I will post them... not sure if it would be better for them to be an occasional feature or a mini-series later.

So that is the situation. I wish I was a pure creative engine that could devote endless energy toward my endeavors, but some weeks things end up more scattered and unfocused. Though I've made various efforts to refine my process over the years, sometimes there's just some time needed to change gears or clear out mental space to focus, or at least it seems inevitable so far.

It really is a privilege to be able to do this professionally, though, which is why I'm enthusiastically doing so much. Thanks to everyone for supporting me. ^-^

And thank you for your work. Especially with TLS, I'm so happy you keep updating it & adding improvements.

Yes, thx for TLS. I started another play through today and LOLed at the “charge the bees!” bit.

Yaaaaaay Omnipocalypse news! Can't wait for the update. Out of curiosity, how much of Phase 1 would you say is 'done', as compared to your final vision right now? We've got a lot of content already, but we still can't save mom which would change things up a lot, no doubt.

That question is trickier than you might think, because it depends on how you're asking. My first thought was "Mostly done" because I tried to include the whole phase in a fairly coherent form. But based on how you're asking, meaning every possible path through the first part of the loop... oh, there's a ton more. Saving your mother will be a huge change, yes, but eventually you'll be able to go in an entirely different direction, taking a different path to the safe zone. The early phase is the one the player will repeat the most, over the course of the game, so I have a lot planned.

« Rating bombing » ? As an aside, I find it hilarious how the naked Qum dancing animation is showcased in the « Give friends & *family* access to exclusive work » side-panel. (Especially since it cropped it off to only show crotch to boobs. x'D)

There was a period of 24 hours where I got more minimum ratings than the entire rest of the month combined. It's possible that it was random chance, but it felt a bit like a campaign to reduce the story's rank (which it definitely did). The story is still doing okay overall, it just soured me a little.

Unfortunately, that's just part of the game, so they won't do anything. Only thing I can do is overwhelm them with more positive ratings.

I have posted some of my stories on Literotica, a site prone to rating bombing. They try to compensate by deleting some votes that come from duplicate IPs or robots- but I’m not sure how they determine this and often they get good ratings deleted along with the bad ones, so it’s not a perfect system. I ended up turning off ratings for all my stories there just to silence the trolls and my OCD. I know what I put out is good and those who agree can still provide written feedback, public & private (I can delete negative comments). Not a solution that works for a pay site unfortunately.
