Okay... it looks like all the unpleasant promotional work paid off, because my new book is off to a good start! The new cover above has been well-received, but I'm more enthusiastic about a much smaller image:

Given that you're competing with every book that's ever been written, including Harry Potter, Stephen King, Nora Roberts, etc... breaking into the top 1000 is nothing to sneeze at! I don't think I'll be able to maintain it for long, since even steady sales can't compete at this level, but we'll see how long it lasts!

If anybody has been following this story but hasn't checked the completed book out yet, or was waiting for it to be finished, now is the time. Reviews don't hurt either, if you're the review-giving type.  ^-^

Anyway, this is too much promotion stuff for me. I want nothing more than to work for a week without posting anything publicly. That probably can't happen just yet, while responses are still flying, but I've 100% cleared my list of tasks regarding this. Hopefully more creative work is around the corner.

Captain Hair

Gonna be honest, my first thought was "Is that Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes?"

sierralee

Yeah, his hair did end up going in that direction. Given the jacket, I probably should have poked more about it, but this artist is always interesting to work with.

Andrew Hughes

Amazon kindle the only retailer or is it available elsewhere?

sierralee

Only available on Amazon, sorry. They've done too good a job of establishing their monopoly for authors not to play ball.

Cannali

I'm honestly so impressed dude, like you make amazing games and you're an author on the side? Good stuff!

Decanter

"dude" doesn't have to be gendered if you don't want it to be, dank dude.

Lamsey

Similarly to how 'dank' now somehow has positive connotations, which has always confused the hell out of me...

sierralee

Thanks for the kind words! I really enjoy creating things and throughout my life I've dabbled in both games and books. I find the two use different creative muscles.
