As always, you can see the full list over at https://8bitnintendo.science/ and don't forget, you can join the Advisory Panel to make suggestions for which games I'll play next!

Interesting batch this week, it's always nice when some games are better than I'm expecting... though it's also really fun when a game is way worse than I'm expecting. Got both of those things on display here.

Wait, There's a Tecmo SUPER Bowl? | Ranking the NES, Episode 85

It's time to look at Tecmo's follow-up to Tecmo Bowl, Tecmo Super Bowl. Hey, let's check out Superman, while we're at it! Also, let's return to the days of the Civil War with North & South? And we'll see how Brad Pitt fares in the NES version of Cool World... strap in. Though I admire your dedication to The Science, I feel like you may have overcorrected with Tecmo Super Bowl. All else equal (<- important caveat), a good game that appeals to a wider audience is better than one that appeals to a narrower audience. It's not as if the people who liked TSB didn't also like Tecmo Bowl a lot, you know? And anecdotally, I'm a long-time baseball fan and I've never enjoyed simulation-type baseball games (like you, I don't want to try and guess the location of the pitch when I'm batting). So it's not necessarily true that people who like football are going to like TSB more than you do.

I forgot there was an NES After Burner! This and the Xbox 360 Top 25 reminded me of a certain short play-along of After Burner Climax with Jeff and Ryan Davis; no spoilers but the “After Burner-themed clothing line” still makes me laugh. Also, I really like the intro and titles for Tecmo Super Bowl.
