It’s been just about a week since the Switch 2 was formally unveiled, how are we all feeling about it? Obviously there’s a lot of little tidbits to sift through and tariffs to fret about, so let’s go through it. Also: I’ve been playing a little Blue Prince!

If we gotta put either bionic commando or contra on the influential games list, which one makes it?

$449 was an acceptable price. Not jazzed about it, but it was acceptable. Anything higher is crazy, there is absolutely no way i'm buying a tariffed up switch 2. You're right about the games thing, it doesn't really matter what I hate about the console. The games are good, and I want to play them! Being just unable to afford it is really the only thing that'll stop me from buying nintendo's stuff.

The direct breaking on the US stream seems to have caused a ton of confusion. I had no idea the physical copy pricing shit was EU exclusive. I swapped to that stream because the US desynced so bad and they just weren't fixing it.

Despite having a day one backdoor that enabled rampant piracy and emulation, the switch still seemed to me like the most successful of the consoles. Which says to me that the piracy didn't really hurt them all that much. It was a bad look sometimes with people comparing pc gameplay to the console, but I don't think it actually mattered. The Switch audience just continued paying for the games. People still pay for NSO despite those games being stupidly easy to pirate

Need a multi hour bonus podcast - building an actual top 25 most influential games list. That segment was absolutely fascinating hearing your take on what was / wasn’t influential.
