Quick Look: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 (Patreon)

Here's a look at Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 running on a PS5 Pro in "fidelity" mode.

I think this game is fan-frickin'-tastic. A really well-made remake that, for a variety of reasons, takes some liberties with the source material, but I don't think those changes get in the way much, if at all.

Also of note: thanks to everyone for backing the Patreon for enabling me to really not care about things like "YouTube monetization," which is an absolute nightmare. I want to show this game as close to the way you'd see it if/when you play it. That means not doing things like turning on the royalty-free soundtrack, especially considering there's been more than a little talk about this game's music. This video got, like, 20+ copyright notifications after posting to YouTube because of all the licensed music, and I think it can't be viewed in Russia, as a result? It's such a backwards process that actively favors copyright holders--or, really, people who claim to be copyright holders--over the people who post content to YouTube. Legally, that makes some sense, but it always surprises me how little YouTube cares about this specific song-and-dance.

It took me an hour or so to file all the fair use counter-claims against the music, which I pretty much just do on principle, rather than expecting the claims to actually go through. It's a bad system!
