Ya know, this show has been way more personal than I thought it would be. When Glenn and I first started talking about doing it, it just seemed like a fun little romp through time, we'd talk about the time I finished Ninja Turtles in front of a retail buyer. We'd talk about the Game Genie stuff. But it's way deeper and, like, more revealing than that? I hope people are enjoying the show. This time around we talk about the rest of our time working in Berkeley, the Sega jacket that nearly ruined a friendship, Glenn's all-nighters, me being told that I'm basically worthless, and much more. I was glad to have this conversation, but for some reason I'm also glad that it's over. I'm not 100% sure why I feel this way about it, but I guess it was a more difficult time than I originally thought.

(I'll post some more photos of the other issues of the magazine a little later!)

This will live on YouTube as an unlisted video here: https://youtu.be/ZYpAwBqkF0w

When I first was trying to get into games writing I decided to solicit Mark Turmell and Andy Eddy for interviews for no particular reason, just thinking it would be a good idea. I remember talking to Andy about Digital Diner and he was explaining that the name Digital Diner was like--a snappy name to be editorially imprinted upon by the magazine, like a brand to rally behind--I remember asking him if that was kinda like Giant Bomb and he said "yes, exactly like Giant Bomb!"

loved the conversation about being in those situations that young and being understanding of your younger selves. You both came into your own as writers and can't wait to hear how others maybe mentored your style and how. Or maybe that community college course helped a bit.

Is there going to be an audio version on the podcast feed?

That reggie thing where he called out a kid for pirating tears of the kingdom reminded me of the thing Glenn went through and I feel like times have not changed. Anyway I look at the looming Gamespot Arc as like Season 2 from Jojo, just gotta get through Season 1 but Dio is still a loveable villain so it gets you through it. Allegory might not be 1:1 but it makes sense in my head ok.

As always, it was a pleasure to hear your stories, and I look forward to hearing more. Thanks y'all.

Have absolutely LOVED this series so far. What a close to Act 1!
