I got a message today that was hard to read, because it was absolutely true, and it was something I needed to see. It was a respectful but frank and honest assessment of how I've been handling delays and setbacks on the channel/here on Patreon. The core point of it was that the least I can do is to keep you all updated when there is a delay, rather than ghosting you guys. And it made the also very-true statement that it's not the way I would handle delays with my offline employer, and while the channel is a bit of a different situation, it's a similar concept. It's a matter of respect, and it's a matter of delivering on a financial transaction, among other things. And I know it's also causing stress for those of you who worry about me personally when I go radio-silent like that, and that's not fair to you either.

With the number of delays I've had to announce recently in the face of my non-channel work and personal developments taking up more and more of my time, I can admit that I get so nervous about the potential response to adding another delay announcement that I then don't do the bare minimum, which is to let you all know when something isn't going to release as expected. But that just makes the situation worse, and in a way that is fully under my control. Life impacts how much time I can allocate to the channel, but I choose how I communicate that out, and lately I've chosen to not communicate it at all, and that's wrong. Especially after I committed myself to making this a better year. It makes the promises ring hollow. I hear that and I see that. What's the point of having apologized if the behavior has stayed the same.

The release schedule of two videos a week needs to change going forward, at least for a time. I've been able to maintain a pretty intense release schedule for the last four years, and I can admit that there's an element of toxic pride there, that I don't want to admit that I can't keep that up, that I can't keep pulling off anthology style releases, that I can't manage all these parts of my life at once on my own, but if I'm being honest with myself and with you all, that's not feasible anymore with the way my life and my work has changed in that time, particularly lately. At the very least, any kind of back-to-back releases like this one we're in are outside my bandwidth right now. I need to think more on that and come to some conclusions so I can let you all know what I'm ultimately deciding on that front.

Short term: there's a video dropping for early access later today, it's not the Wolf!Anton video from the April Fools anthology, it's a whisper audio. Something simpler that I could get out. The Bonus Audio will release tomorrow. Then the last two April Fools vids will drop as the next releases. While I still like the concept of themed releases like the anthologies, I need to be blunt with myself and you all about the fact that I clearly can't do back to back releases anymore, so I need to stop promising those. Any themed releases like this need to be spread out over a more reasonable time table so I can actually execute on them. And I need to figure out how much content I can realistically get out in a month.

Also: I'm sure there will be comments on this stating that it's worth the wait, to take as long as I need, etc. The sentiment behind that is very kind and very generous, and I appreciate it and the grace that you've given me, but I need to add that not every subscriber or patron feels that way, and they are totally justified in that feeling. While being just subscribed to the channel is free, supporting me here is a monetary thing. And if I'm not delivering on the service they're paying for, then they have every right to be frustrated about that and to act as they see best in response. So while I appreciate the patience that's been offered, I am not owed that patience, and it's completely fair for those who aren't happy to be upset.

Take your time, and thank you for everything 🩵

Inky

I really appreciate the update. While I'm more than happy to wait, the radio silence was frustrating.

Just call me AJ

Thank you for updating us, I can imagine that this wasn't easy to write. Stay safe :)

Lilian 726

Your honesty is really something to admire. There's a lot that can be said to this but I'm glad you're able to make changes necessary to keep things going in good spirits, something I hope continues for a long while.

Everyone has setbacks and don’t be too hard on yourself, we appreciate your effort and we are so grateful for you as a whole. Your doing the best we can and it’s okay and we believe in you and hope your doing well 💗

Tori Hills

I've honestly just been super worried about you. Another person I subscribe to on here has been completely radio silent for months now after saying a video was gonna release in February and didn't. I'm worried about him and his health since we've had no update. I don't want the same to happen with you and get no updates on how you're doing. I am very glad you're ok, Erik💜

highkeymika

thank you for your honestly Erik, it is always very much appreciated :) glad you're good, even if things are very hectic right now<33

aeonian

you are approaching this in mature, wise, and thoughtful manner 🤍 wishing you the best, hope you can figure out what works best for you, the channel, and patrons here ❤️

Bonnie

I know I'm not alone in the patrons who will support this channel regardless of circumstances - like we could get one video in the next year and the value this channel has added to my life overall will make me still consider my patronage worth while. That being said I humbly volunteer to be your secretary, I do not require payment, and I can sleep on the floor and am housetrained 🫡🫡

Rae

Glad you’re changing things up to make it a bit easier on yourself— we love youuu and appreciate your effort- so incredibly grateful for you 💜💜💜

EmSterling93

Thanks for being transparent with us, Erik. Super thankful that we as a 'fandom' can be brutally honest with you and you don't immediately bristle up and get angry. And I'm thankful you let us keep you accountable ;)

sunshine

Along as you're okay, Erik!! Stay safe :))

Four years holy cow I didn’t know it’s been that long. But thank you for listening to your audience. It’s comforting knowing you will listen to everyone even if it is harsher criticism. Take care of yourself Redacted and thank you for everything.

CloudySun

Thank you for being open and honest about everything 💕

Lauren

Yeah, I’ll admit, the week-long radio silences have been worrying. 😅 I just appreciate that you’re being so upfront with us

Nightshade1217

Do what you feel is right Erik and thank you for always keeping all of us in your thoughts even when stuff gets tough. Hope your having a good day or night and remember to drink water amd get rest 💖

Angelixia

I was wondering about that but thank you for clearing it up! I get that as a creator and still have irl stuff that it is hectic to handle at times and adjustments are going to happen so please feel free to adjust your timetable to what works best for both Patreons and for you! All the love! 🩵✨

Shelbey W

Thank you for taking the time to update up us, I know alot of us was worried about you. Maybe go to releasing once a week instead of twice? Do whatever you gotta do to keep yourself happy and not burnt out, regardless I know all of us are happy your back but not at the expense of your mental health so please take care of your self.

Mars

been an on again, off again, patreon supporter and full time subscriber due to money issues, i’m happy you’re giving yourself more reasonable time periods to get things out, burnout and overworking are very real and absolutely awful. please take care of yourself! we love you 🫶🏻

Andromeda

Even with all of this going on, I hope everything will even out for you :)

Ellie W

Thank you for the explanation and the clear expectation setting going forward ❤️ I'm not one that had felt upset or cheated but I do get worried when we don't hear from you, so I'm glad for the update.

Silver

Thank you for clarifying! I think regardless of everyone’s feelings on delays, we all absolutely appreciate the communication. And I think it’s totally reasonable to slow down upload frequency! Myself and many others want you to be taking care of yourself first.

rachel ♡

appreciate the update and the communication. life is hard and ever-changing - it's okay to change your content and stuff to reflect what you can reasonably deliver. just keep us in the loop :) i understand the anxiety and worry completely but i think most of us would rather know what's going on than wonder. much love!

Guppiees

alright who sent the message

Harley the Addict

Fair points all around, thank you for the transparency and honesty 💖 Its important to keep a healthy awareness of your limits, but boy can it be hard to do sometimes. Meanwhile, I'm excitedly but patiently waiting for that whisper audio~

CryptidLuxe

I get that others get frustrated when there are delays, but I am perfectly fine with waiting, and I’m just glad you’re doing okay, the ghosting was a bit concerning, but just because it was a little unusual. Just remember, your own mental and physical health are the most important thing, and we’ll be here for you whenever you come back!

Slytemmie

I can appreciate you taking an honest look at what's been happening and taking measured steps forward. More than anything it's important to keep improving and acknowledging you deserve grace but are not owed it only shows both humility and that this was a needed point to change pace. Thank you for keeping us in the loop and I hope you continue growing at a pace that doesn't rush or hurt you.

TaraD

Thank you for your frankness, Erik. It is important to know in any business transaction that we can trust that things are not being forgotten, and taking ownership of one’s own capabilities, which of course will change depending on other constantly changing life factors, is the best way to respect yourself, and us in this case. However, as a fully functioning human being myself, as we all are here, I totally understand that change can be hard, and that you aren’t ready to let go of the stringent schedule you’ve set yourself to, but i would rather you have the time to fulfill all the aspects of your life, even if that means that we get a few fewer releases each month. Take care of yourself.

Jupiter

Damm I know it can be hard to admit something like that but your honesty is admirable ❤️❤️❤️

RedWillow

This. This is what we wanted. Thank you for listening to us.

Thanatos

I speak for myself but I think most will agree, we're not going to be disappointed if you slow down the releases and post less audios, you're human just as any of us and also need time for yourself and being honest to yourself. Don't overwork you, we're here for your amazing work, no matter if it's one audio per day or one per month (to exaggerate it, you got what I wanna say) 🥺❤️

lotus

i think i speak for a lot of my fellow obsessed patrons when i say that this announcement was very satisfying, and its very relieving to hear here (as opposed to just assuming from the new ep of the podcast) that youre alright. thank you for sharing your thought process, and thank you for being open with us all. hope everything offline is still going alright <3

Abby

That’s crazy someone goes out of their way to message you that. Sorry, but like..?? Idk. We know you have a job, we know you have a life, as do all of us. You’re human. On top of that, I’m sure the demonetization has been hard. People have differences of opinion, though, you’re right. Still, it goes without saying atp, know that most of us out are here for you! 🖤

~MAC~

I'm glad that you're thinking about lessening the load when it comes to video output, I can't imagine how many things you need to do with the channel, patreon, and off-youtube job. Thank you for updating us all about this, and I hope you can find a schedule that works for how busy life has become!!

Litlkim

As someone who often puts things off because of the anxiety it produces, I understand what you were feeling. Many of us often say those back to back releases are too much. We won’t be upset over those going away when it’ll benefit you mentally. Whatever you need to do to get through this rough time, do it 💖

cherry

I appreciate the update and I hope that from now on, when you run into these setbacks, you will be more punctual in letting us know. I honestly don’t mind waiting for new audios, but the radio silence can be frustrating at best and anxiety inducing at worst. It’s much less of a big deal if we know something’s coming, but it’s going to be a few days late.

CarrotSam

Thank you for taking the time to give us this major update to things. I completely understand that it's hard to communicate things but I am glad you did. not going to lie thought, its been tough being in the dark on what has been happening. You don't owe a big or a detailed explanation but it's good to know where some things stand and what is happening. It's worrying when a creator just goes silent. I am sorry things are tough right now but, no matter what you decide you are able to do you have my support. I do hope things get better for you. Looking forward to whatever releases you do.

UnderTheUmbra

Thank you so much for the update! And if I’m being honest I was getting a bit worried but I’m glad you’re alright and that you can be so transparent with us. I can’t imagine the kind of stress you’re under with just normal life things and the recent demonetization. Thanks again for the update and I look forward to hearing the upcoming content! Ps. Please don’t burn yourself out, your stories have inspired me so much and I’d hate to see them end. I can handle a less frequent upload schedule if it means the stories are just as good as they are even now. Take care of yourself and we eagerly await your return :]

Zoria

good to see you figuring out your work-life-content-creation balance 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Meg

Thank you for your candour, it's truly appreciated and validating, I think a lot of us would rather see content release lessen/change than the channel/the patreon be a burden to you or be clueless of what's happening. (I admittedly have dipped in and out the last few months rather than be a consistent patron as I was previously but it's nice to know what's happening when I am around.) Not to put extra pressure on but I think a lot of us do get concerned about your well-being in extended periods of silence also, and just want to know you're okay if nothing else.

spitefultealeaf

I can absolutely relate to your default reaction being to not communicate struggles/delays, because I've been in a similar situation for quite some time now and it has "backfired" recently. sometimes we need to be called out in some way to be able to reflect on a pattern like that. but I hope you don't beat yourself up over this too much. what's done is done and now we can decide how we move forward. whatever changes you decide to make, I'm gonna look forward to hearing about them, trusting that you'll find a way to balance your own expectations and your well being. please take care!

Glitter Goblin

im glad you wrote this out because honestly, i was getting pretty frustrated? but i felt like i couldnt say anything because everyone else seemed to be commenting really patient and careing sentiments so i felt like i would be being an asshole to voice that frustration? but at the end of the day there is something to be said for the fact that part of my patreon support is to get early access, and i was not getting what i was paying for and its not unreasonable to be frustrated by that. i think changing the upload schedule to something more manageable is the right thing to do, even if it results in a slower flow of content, its preferable for it to at least be on time. another thing that could help is making sure theres a backlog of content? because it seems like youre just making it as you go and thats a pretty inefficient way to release schedualed content, ideally when people post regular content, the things are made in advance so its already done and dusted by release day. sorry if thats something you've already tried and it hasnt worked for you, but i think that wpuld really help especially with anthology things

♥︎☆°~Joonie~°☆♥︎

Thank you for updating us Erik. I was getting worried about you until a new podcast video came out. But I'm glad you are okay! I hope you take good care of yourself, please take your time. Even tho we say that alot I hope you do take your time and try not to stress yourself out. ♡♡♡

Lilian 726

I agree with that first bit. I get the frustration but like, the man has a life. Things like this can be expected even if I do agree communication is vital since we are paying for this content.

Sheh

Thank you for addressing this! Because I am one of those people who worry when delays happen with no communication, and I've been bothered that it continued after said apology. Delays happen, that's just life. But dealing with it is also life. I've never felt that we are owed any (potentially very personal) explanation as to why things happen, I do feel that we deserve a heads up.

EntangledSawyer

I was definitely starting to worry with the lack of updates in the past week, I completely understand life getting in the way and the demonetization of your channel definitely doesn’t help make things any better. Also the “apologizing but not any changed behavior” is not your fault at all whatsoever because you upheld your end for a while with a good release schedule but then life got crazy and I’m sure very stressful. We all just want to make sure YOU are ok in the long run and getting updates are just reassuring of things

Abby

But also if you believe it’s taking too long, and you’re paying…quit the payments until more content comes out and binge….🤷🏼‍♀️

Green Blue

For me, I just feel lucky to be allowed into the incredible world that you have built. The stories you create are something that has literally changed me as a person. They help me work through my own issues, and completely re-vamp the way that I look at people in general. I know not every patron feels this way, but for me it is ABSOLUTELY worth waiting for. People search their whole lives to find something that changes their life the way your channel has changed mine. I’ll wait 100 years if I have to, for me it’s worth every second. I also understand the fear behind not wanting to update. So nervous about what will happen, so you decide to ignore it so you’re not scared, but then that creates an entire new fear about not addressing the problem. It’s a vicious cycle, and it’s one you’re not alone in. I’m just glad you’re at least a little okay. :)❤️

🕷️AbbyGoth🕸️

I like the thought of getting more updates whenever things go wrong and schedules change. I'm personally in the camp of people who do not mind the wait at all, but get worried pretty quickly when things go silent out of nowhere. I also agree that people do have the right to be upset about the lack of uploads if they pay for the content. I'd personally be a lot more upset when the content we do get dips in quality because you're just forcing yourself to push it out as fast as possible. So I think being honest about how much you can upload and informing us whenever things change is a good solution. It's definitely more fair for everybody, if people know what to expect and can choose if it's worth the money for them or not. I'm personally on board with pretty much anything, as long as you keep up the great work and enjoy doing it.

Rachel_Maybe

If uploading less frequently means that you're able to put out content that's of a consistent quality and meets the standard you set for yourself, rather than pushing out something you're less happy with just for the sake of staying on schedule, I think that can only be a good thing. Glad that you're recognizing your limits, and thanks for keeping us in the loop.

cherry

agreed.

RIOT

I really appreciate this response and I’m glad to hear you’re ok. As someone who pays for your Patreon, the acknowledgement for the money side of things is greatly appreciated. Tough life shit happens that’s out of your control and I get that, but it can be a bit frustrating and worrying when you don’t update us. It turns out I wasn’t the only one who ended up checking the podcast channel just to see if you were ok. Thank you for committing to being better about informing us when delays are happening, and it’s great to know you’re gonna be more realistic with your expectations for yourself. It’s important you don’t push yourself too hard. 🖤

Carmilla Dragyns

Thank you for your honesty and for the update. All we ask is for you to be happy and healthy while you entertain us with your talents in voice acting. I personally think that you just need a break to destress and detox from all of this. From the channel, from Patreon, from all of it and just breathe. Yes, we worry, but that's because you put so much pressure on yourself. That isn't to say that we don't do the same, passively pressuring you to work your tail off to provide us with audios, and I would like to apologize for that. Erik, please believe us when we say that we love and support you, and we want nothing but the best for you. If you decide to take a break, then we will support your decision. 🫂❤️

Ollie

I was getting worried and frustrated, when things are unpredictable for me, I get anxious. While I appreciate the apology and how up front you are about it, please remember that if you need an actual break to really think about everyone and everything on your channel. Do so. That way you'll have somewhat of a clearer head when situations like this happen. Don't force yourself to make content that will damage you in the process. Quality is better than quantity in this case.

pinkSPARKL

Glad to hear the message was respectful, and that better communication will result from it along with a more you-friendly schedule. This past year of becoming and being a Redacted fan, I've been in awe of your work ethic and output, but also worried at the stress it might be causing you. An ASMRtist I follow(ed) has been on perma-hiatus since 2022 and chose not to communicate about his absence leading to a lot of worry from his fans, which may in turn be causing him stress at not wanting to let those fans down. I try my best not to parasocialise and simp for internet strangers, but my tragic empathy kinda makes me worry about everyone and everything. The bottom line is, yes, you're not owed our patience just as we're not owed detailed reasons as to why something is delayed. I'd love for you to get the chance to tell your stories as you see fit, but only if it's not pushing you past your limits. A little "video's gonna be a day late" is better than radio silence. Not to get all mushy (and simp-y) but we care about you. It sucks to break promises you made at the start of the year, but personally I'd rather get 1 audio a week and know you're not busting your ass trying to get channel stuff done with the other million things you gotta do in your life than to have whatever previously-promised anthology schedule (I get real worried during those times...) and a side order of "I hope he's okay". (I have no idea if any of that made sense...) Also, my pseudo-insomnia is excited for that whisper audio~ I don't even care what the content it, it's already going into my sleep playlist, that much I know for certain 😁 So, thank you for the update, and I wish you ALL the best for whatever you're up to. 💕

TheCvntessa

I am very proud of you for the bravery of putting out this message. Not a lot of people would appreciate feedback from their followers as you did. I am also proud of you for apologising and owning up to the delays. I can understand life has been chaotic and it is difficult to keep up the schedule, but we worry for you when there is no signs of you. If you have to upload less for your own well being, do it. We will support you no matter what and as long you are well.Much love.

Tepid Judas

I wanna know too so I can thank them lol

Marjolijn

We love u Erik. We really do.

Miss_Nicky31

Thank you for your honesty and update. Very much appreciated. Take all the time and don't be afraid to give us a heads up! Sometimes live happens and if there are less uploads, personally don't mind. I know the quality of your audio's is always top notch. Your audios really help me, more than I can put into words. I hope you are doing okay and think about yourself and your health.

sumisquash

Thank you for addressing this. I’m really glad you’re alright. Please do take care of yourself whenever you absolutely need to! I also want to thank you for being honest, and being able to open up. Take your time, and just focus on yourself anytime 🤍

Sarina Boghosian

Wile I’ve been patience and always saying it’s fine take your time no rush is true well the haft truth I’ve been frustrated but understand that these things takes time and patience and we all know how hard you work we also worry so if you ever need to just take a vacation just off YouTube or even patrion to just breath and take a break for yourself once in awhile that’s fine I might get anxious and worried now and then but I know your working as hard as you can as a story teller my self I can completely understand and it’s frustrating for me too if I have to dilay something feels like I’m letting everyone down but sometimes I have to remember that taking a break from it all is okay we are only human I think most of us agree we won’t be disappointed if you have to slow down posts at least you give us updates wich we appreciate

Nawar

agreed!!

MadMac

Glad I’m not the only one who felt that way. I get frustration from lack of updates and wanting to check in, heck even I was getting worried, but I’m fine with radio silence for a few days if that allows him the time to recharge. Real life should always come first and while communication can and likely should be worked on, at the end of the day a few missed uploads isn’t the end of the world

Alexis Brown

I appreciate you letting us know and being respectful to the feedback that you have received. I understand that you had a blow to your YouTube channel as well. So I knew that you were trying to figure out some things and I know that delays happened because life happens. Always remember to take care of yourself and don't try to overdo it. I've been there and sometimes you need to take a break.

ReplayCamera2 Chloe

This was a difficult read. I’ve been a part of this fandom for nigh 4 years and if there are two things a know for sure it’s that you hold yourself to incredibly high standards, and that you don’t take this incredible opportunity you’ve been given for granted, even for a second. I remember during an ancient episode of the podcast you alluded to how taxing these back-to-back releases are and that was when your offline job was fully remote. I can’t imagine how much more difficult it is to hold these kinds of schedules now that you’re back in the office. Ultimately, I’m glad you’ve been given pause to reevaluate where and how the channel needs to fit into your life in a way that allows balance and to admit to yourself that the schedule you held in 2021 may not be feasible as life goes on. The channel should be a place of creative energy, not the looming, anxiety-inducing threat of another obligation. I wish you well in taking the time needed to find that balance and, as always, look forward to the next instalment.

Reese Outburst

I don’t really care how far apart the releases are as long as the amazing stories continue. It’s been a real treat watching the growth of not only these character but the community that loves them, and I don’t care if I have to wait a bit longer for videos as long as the stories keep getting told the way they need to. That being said transparency is always appreciated. It makes the wait between stories a bit calmer when you know what to expect.

✨Starlight Angel Baaabe🩷

First of all, I'm glad you're ok. It's been a fine line of knowing I'm not entitled to any personal information about you but also worrying about you as a person. In the future, when I express that I feel ok about something, I will remember I speak for myself only and not the community at large. So. I am grateful for your grace in understanding that even just posting that a delay has occurred is better than leaving us without communication. I am always ok with delays as long as I know to expect it. I support you and your well-being as much as I support the content. TBH, right after my concern for your well-being was a concern that the channel was going to go away entirely. I would prefer a decrease in uploads but still have access to the Patreon-only content than lose the content completely. Life gets in the way of our plans for all of us at times, and I hope you hear that I am willing to support any direction you take the channel if I just get some communication about what to expect. Take care of yourself first, and be reasonable and patient with yourself. The rest will fall in line.💖

amistamane

I've been listening to your audios for roughly 2 years now. And even though yes it is fairly upsetting seeing an audio delayed I know that whenever it does come out it'll be far past my expectations. Your audios are amazing and even when I'm impatient i know I'm getting my moneys worth because you're an amazing creator

Shae D'Amora

Thank you for the communication. 🙏🏾 A restructure of the way everything runs would be 100% understandable. Life in 2020 was pretty different for most people, so it absolutely makes sense for a project you started in such a different chapter to evolve as your life inevitably does. Clarity and open communication are things I deeply value with other people, even if those relationships are only transactional or fan-to-creator, so it’s definitely helpful to hear all this upfront. The silence was worrisome in a lot of different ways. I’m always conscious of the fact that you have a real life full of work and real, loving relationships and other hobbies, but it’s also reassuring to know when things might be put on hiatus for a bit, or even if, someday, you might feel that life is leading you away from here to focus on other things. It would all be understandable and, personally, I’d wish you the best no matter what. It’s just nice to have some awareness of where we stand, even if that means multiple delay notices or a reduction in the number of audios. I’m definitely glad you’re doing okay. I hope things smooth out for you in all aspects of life. Lots of love to you, and thank you again for the update 💜

Nat

can i just say, your willingness to communicate goes a very very long way! i know exactly what you mean when you say that having to come to terms with not being able to fulfill a promise is hard to do, but you acknowledge that it happens and are willing to work towards fixing it in the future in whatever way you can and that is so admirable. changing your schedule to lighten the load on yourself is not something you should feel bad about, its a part of self care! i appreciate you being so mature about how you deal with things like that and i hope you can cut yourself some slack along the way as well :,D sending you good vibes always!

✨Starlight Angel Baaabe🩷

I think I follow the same creator, one I learned about from Erik, and it is much better to just saw up front it's going to be a long delay than to just disappear. TY Erik for your honesty and understanding!

Jymma

Thank you for the apology and keeping us in the loop. Life happens and we can't control it, but we can control our response, and I think that you've done a good job here. I do understand it's hard when a bunch of things happen at once, it can be difficult to juggle, and more than likely, things will be dropped, intentionally or unintentionally. I hate having to deliver bad news, so I can commiserate with the dread of the reaction to an announcement people may not like as well as the desire to hold off and hope it kind of blows over. If you have to slow down, then you have to slow down, I'll still stay subscribed, as I enjoy your content. Either way, I understand. I hope you're able to get some order in the chaos and things become more manageable for you. I would hate to see you suffer burnout, whether that be on here or in your life outside of patreon and YouTube. I wish you luck and calmer waters.

Spuddles

thank you for updating us, I’m glad to hear that you’re okay and I appreciate the honesty you’ve given us. I’m with the majority that are worried when things go quiet, but at the same time I completely understand, I’ve had those moments. The anxiety can create this need for avoidance due to the fear of making the situation worse, when in actuality that’s what gives the anxiety more time to build up. It’s a familiar feeling, I won’t lie. However, I can’t imagine what it’s like to have a large audience peering over your shoulder as well. I do understand where the frustration has come from, I wouldn’t say I’m majorly pissed but I won’t sit here and say I don’t frequently check my notifs and feel my heart sink when nothing has been posted in a hot minute. But, I’m aware that you have a life and a job outside of making audios and I was aware of that when I first joined the patreon. Life happens. I think spacing out anthology releases will be a lot better, it sounds a lot less stressful than back to back releases. And while you don’t owe us any explanation into your personal life, if there’s a delay then it’s okay to tell us. I know it didn’t seem it at the time, but it’s better to let us know. That all being said (incredibly long comment i am so sorry lmao) Take care of yourself! Again, thank you for the update and honesty! :)

Deadish

As someone with the tendency to just go quiet rather than risk upsetting people, I know firsthand the frustration that this can cause for everyone involved, especially when it comes to being unable to deliver on something. Your honesty with regard to what’s going on is much appreciated, and your plan to adjust your upload schedule to something more feasible is a good call to avoid situations like this. I’m also something of a worrier, so I was glad to see the podcast upload if for no other reason than to know that you were doing okay. I’ve learned the hard way far too many times that setting huge goals for myself without allowing enough wiggle room for the inevitable fuckenings of life is a recipe for disaster. I hope things with the updated release schedule ease the pressure on you a bit while offline life things settle :)

Allegory of Wolves

Like so many, I had started to worry about you. Doesn't matter, if we don't know you personally; you're still an artist who has a great impact on his audience by the entertainment, comfort, giggles and fun you provide. And with that goodness given to *us*, it's kinda natural for us to also want to know that *you're* okay, too. The radio-silence could have meant anything... O_O I was relieved to at least know you're alive when, like quite a few others apparently, I had checked out the podcast. I really appreciate the honest update! I can imagine, it wasn't easy to write. But like probably the huge majority of us here, I'll stick around and keep supporting you, no matter what (healthy) schedule you end up figuring out for yourself. When I found your channel only last autumn, I was astonished at *how* much (and high quality) content you manage to produce, and I kept wondering how you're juggling that with your RL job and personal life and other hobbies. It does not surprise me, that you might have to slow down a little. And if you do that, and we can all be sure that that change makes your life a bit easier and keeps you well, then I'll enjoy the content even more! And if something does have to get delayed (maybe in the future, too, even with a different schedule), please don't be too nervous about dropping a quick note about it here. We won't bite (at least not you, lol), and it would just make us worry less. ;-) Take care of yourself! If you're happy, we're happy! ♥

This update is so appreciated!! 🩷

ERIK😭😭😭 thank you for giving us an update! i’ve been really worried something bad had happened! as much i want you to keep giving us videos 2 times a week, like you said in your post it’s not a feasible option for you right now and that is fine! you’re not an unstoppable work machine! and i would much rather have you take a break or reduce your release schedule than you burning out and losing the love and passion you once had thus making you stop doing it completely. i’m understanding where you’re coming from bc im the same exact way. but you’re here, you’re working on communicating with us and that’s all i want from you! all this to say, thank you and i’m proud of you for coming to terms and owning up to us. people can be upset with you (such is life) but please please please do not beat yourself up. simply saying “i haven’t done the best with this, i want to do better tho” is the energy you’re keeping here. am i a little sad that there won’t be back to back themed videos? yeah, but i can suck it up and wait. take care of yourself!!! give yourself the grace you deserve! life is all about reflecting, growing, and changing and that includes EVERYTHING! keep working on keeping us in the loop bc the transparency eases the anxiety. nothing but love for you erik!

Despite the point of this update being to take accountability and to kind of bridge-the-gap (so to speak), the weight of the feeling behind it isn't lost on me. With this in consideration, I'm going to respond as unemotionally as possible. Nowhere in the "contract" that members read before agreeing to and paying for your service does it guarantee a specific number of audios per month. The only guarantees, strictly stated, are the bonuses for each tier. You are and have been operating within the terms of the agreement. That said, the frustration that certain members may be feeling about the lapse in content? While they're entitled to their feelings, they don't negate the fact that the transaction is being honored. I understand where you're coming from with saying that the members who are upset have a right to be and "to act as they see best in response", but I want to be very, very clear about this: the only appropriate response to being unhappy with your service is to unsubscribe. If we're focusing on the transactional aspect of memberships and detaching your content from you as a person by agreeing that you aren't owed patience, then the detachment needs work both ways in that we aren't owed patience either. There are very inappropriate ways to act in frustration and I want to remind anyone reading this that being unsatisfied with a service doesn't justify rude or abusive behavior towards the service provider. Erik, you're one of the hardest working people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. You hold yourself to a standard that's both admirable and intimidating- I genuinely wonder what the hell you're ON sometimes because where the hell do you get the drive and energy? You're right to be proud of that. But admitting that the near-inhuman productivity you somehow manage is unsustainable is honestly a little comforting. I hear you about the delays and the slower content, I just hope you can be a bit kinder to yourself about it. We can all engage in the debate of entitlement vs. gratitude, but no one is really "owed" anything, patience or otherwise. That doesn't suggest that you don't deserve it.

Erik babes thank you for sharing 💖🙇🏽‍♂️🙇🏽‍♂️ I am definitely also a quiet when overwhelmed or worried of responses person. I am also a person who will say (as you predicted) take your time I honestly and just happy every time you post (and I’m late to the party only being here for a year or two so I’m still working through the massive archive ✨✨). But truly I still don’t think you owe anyone, we’re lucky to have what you share, but I respect your dedication and drive to get work out to us, however that looks! As people say, life is made of many facets and redacted audio is one of your many faces and obligations! Be well! Looking forward to the updates 💖🙇🏽‍♂️🙇🏽‍♂️✨✨💖💖💖

(Creative) Burnout is a real thing, and I do not want to see that happen to you ever. Personally, I pay you to support you overall, not because I demand x uploads a week. Whatever is happening behind the scenes is clearly not easily solved, so please slow down on the uploads for as long as needed. It’s easy to forget you’re a one-man show, and to not realise or respect how much time goes into creating, writing, recording, designing and uploading these audio’s. Time that goes on tóp of your RL schedule. The fact you’ve managed to keep that up for so long even with the delays is both insane and commendable (but also unsustainable). Please take care.

Chicken

Thank you for the clarification! Honestly, I was getting pretty worried that something bad had happened to you, but that’s on me and my anxiety. I most, if not all, of us won’t be disappointed if less videos are posted if they remain at the same amazing quality it’s been (as they say, quality > quantity). I think it also an overall good idea considering you do have a full-time job outside of this as well. Balance is important, and I respect you for being forward and realising that your current schedule needs to change. As long as you prioritise your mental and physical health, we’ll be here waiting :) Thank you for being transparent with us, don’t overwork yourself, and I’m looking forward to the next release 🤍 Side note - I cannot comprehend how you even juggled hours of script-writing, recording, and editing with a full time job 😳 especially for back to back releases for anthologies. I can totally understand if you’re planning on doing less of these. Also, creating this content is meant to be something fun that you enjoy doing. If the pressure of a packed schedule is taking away this enjoyment then something needs to change. You release content on your terms, and I’m glad you’re changing things to adapt.

gourddangit

Thank you for being open and honest with both the community and yourself on this. I can relate to the impulse to under-communicate when unable to meet expectations and empathize greatly. Please do look after yourself, burnout is very real and can be a difficult hole to climb out of. You've created something truly special here. I for one am more than willing to be patient while you find your balance, so long as you continue to communicate when you're able to. Rooting for you.

2026-09-15 07:00 Thank you for the honesty and clarification. And thank you to the person who inspired you to make such a deeply heartfelt confession about these difficulties. It can be hard to message someone that you admire so that they did AND that you responded with such grace and vulnerability is really amazing. Thrilled to be able to continue supporting you here.

Thank you Erik! that cannot have been easy to write or post but honestly, i am so proud and happy you did because this stuff has been on my mind, and apparently most of the others minds aswell.

Crimson Wolf

Thank you for being honest Erik I know it mustn't have been easy we've all been worried about you and are glad your okay. I understand that this was difficult to send this but you did it! And you are incredible for doing it I know it's not easy because your worried about letting us down. But Erik you have created an amazing community full of love and respect I've been with you for 4 years now and the love and respect I've seen in this community is amazing.....you did that Erik you inspire me everyday but please remember to take care of yourself if that means taking time away then we would understand we don't want you to burn yourself out your health is important physically and emotionally though we do miss you. And when it comes to your audios I always believe it's worth the wait because you always leave us speechless but thank you for keeping us updated take care and hope to see you more soon but take your time 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

That's a super sweet message, just showing what great people are in this community 🫶 And I definitely see where you're coming from and agree with the overwhelming majority of what you said. And i'm happy to hear no real abuse or mean messages have happened here. However ✨ I'm also grateful to the person who has reached out because the only valid reaction to being unhappy with this situation is NOT just unsubscribing. At least for me, as a long time supporter, this channel and its creator are important to me. Even if it's minuscule, as a supporter, you have helped this channel grow and thrive. In this situation, where we were basically ghosted, especially with what had happened and was said before, constructive criticism, holding Erik accountable to past promises, and just making sure everything is ok is very valid. This is just an addition to what you said about NOT reacting rudely, not meant to counter or twist your words in any way! 🫶

Dewi Sri

"I want to remind anyone reading this that being unsatisfied with a service doesn't justify rude or abusive behavior towards the service provider. " Louder for the people in the back. I tried to find a way to say the same thing, but I kept writing fighting words instead. So thank you for putting this together so diplomatically.

Mimble

@hazel This is a welcome addition to my post and I agree, now that I've had time to process a bit more. Constructive criticism and holding creators accountable for unfulfilled promises are very justifiable and normal reactions to have. While I intended for my original statement to be more geared towards anyone who's behavior falls into the rude and abusive category, lumping everyone together is dismissing the concerns of the members who're genuine and well-intentioned.

Jessie

exactly this!!

Indigo

I appreciate you. Be nice to yourself. This stuff happens--I have done similar things in my actual career and it feels horrible. I'm not sure how bad you're actually feeling but for me, who was swamped in guilt, something that helped was 'Don't worry. You're in the solution now.' Which I think is a line from a TV show but I read it on a reddit thread. Take care.

EntangledSawyer

I really like this phrase, that kinda helps with the “guilt” portion and to move forward with fixing the issue

Lizzy Elaine

i’m really glad this post was made because some of this things definitely needed to be addressed. i’m glad you communicated this to us directly and not just ignoring criticism. i hope we all can be able to put a fresh foot forward and enjoy the content moving forward. 🩷

riathepinkie

Thank you for your candor and sincerity as always, and I think lessening your content load and spacing out your themes and anthologies to a more manageable schedule will help improve everything for you. The last thing anyone here wants is to see your burn yourself out over all of this

Gingy

Thank you for being an example of how content creators should respond to QCC's (Questions, Comments, Concerns). There's a lot of pride to be had in being consistent; There's a new level of pride which should be had in recognizing your new limits and changing accordingly as to allocate your personal energy and managing expectations for us listeners. We all know you're capable, that's never been a question, this is all out of concern for your well being and knowing you pride yourself in your work...And when work doesn't reflect your usual self we notice and communication goes a long way as you figure out what the new precedent is. I appreciate you.

Rinzler

Mad respect to you for taking criticisms well and being honest about where you're at. I hope that looking at things from that angle will help you set schedules and roles that work for you. It’s never easy to admit that you can't do what you said you would/wanted to do, especially when you care about your work as much as you do. Personally, I appreciate the updates on delays because it's always worrying when someone drops off the grid. Delays happen, and you seem like you have a very full life that can cause those delays to be more frequent. Times change and priorities shift. I also understand and fall to the anxiety that comes with that. For some of us, your videos are the closest we get to having loving, caring, people in our lives so come delays, fewer uploads, whatever, I'll be here until the day you stop completely.

K B

A very mature and thoughtful response. I appreciate the transparency. I personally don’t mind as the expense isn’t astronomical for me but I understand what you’re saying. You’re running a side hustle and living life and you still have your primary employment to consider. Since discovering your channel before Christmas, I have admired your organizational skills and ability to produce content while balancing everything else. Give yourself some grace. Consider your mental well being and do what’s best for you.

2026-09-15 07:00 Had to comment because this hit home for me. I absolutely, 100% understand where you're coming from. (Radio silence is a specialty of mine.) It's a lot to juggle, especially as a creative person. That recharge time is crucial. You've maintained all of this, on top of your day-to-day schedule, which is (super-human) amazing. But no one will fault you for reevaluating things. I think many of your listeners support you regardless of the upload schedule. Personally, I'm here because the universe and characters that you've created are legit magic -- not because the uploads roll out by a clock. Do whatever you feel is right. Do what you love because you are damn good at it. We support you. ❤

You responded beautifully to concerns; but I do want to stress that you are one person. You’ve got a life outside creating content for us. So take your time. Yes, we are salivating for more, but we can also be patient. A lot of us know what it’s like to have 2 jobs and it’s stressful as hell. And balancing can be difficult! But you’re doing amazing! And while we wait for new videos, I’m replaying the videos I have access to whenever I need a pick me up! 🩷🩷🩷 You seem to be a great person! Don’t be too hard on yourself!

恵美 🍏🌈✌️👉👈

I know none of us know what is going on in your personal life, but I think everyone can agree that you need to take care of yourself also. Thank you for being honest. 😊 I hope this year makes you feel less stressed out. ❤️

Pk

I’ve never actually commented on one of these posts before but I’ve been a patron for a few years now. I understand that you’re a person with a life, don’t come down on yourself too hard

CodeAjax

Thank you for being sincere! Even tho I personally don’t mind when there are delays, as I believe that you just like many of us have stuff life throws at you unexpectedly, I do really appreciate this response. I was a little taken aback by not getting a delay notice but then again, life happens, I’m just glad you responded and did so in a respectful and thoughtful manner. I hope the new schedule will improve your wellbeing and that the many fun things that will come in the future will be just as wonderful as what you’ve given us for these past years!

Luktan

I knew something like this will happen since the first month of this year. Never in a bad way, busy life will bound to happen eventually, but never know how chaos it would be. Matter at most is you let us know what’s going on, than keep it quiet, and is understandable that people is upsetting about it as they can be. I now feel easy to know it and hope you feel easy too Keep living a good life and do a good work.🙏🏻

Cinnamon Sugar

Thank you for acknowledging specific points and for updating us on what’s been happening this last week and for readjusting expectations going forward. Digital apologies can feel really hollow, especially when addressing a collective like your content subscribers (paid or non-paid). But yours did feel genuine and sincere, and for that I thank you. I hope when you reset the expectations with yourself you’re able to be just as candid and honest with what is feasible for you going forward. I think most of us will be able to be supportive of that.

girlwithheadphones18

i think this was such an important announcement, im not one to be super bothered by setbacks but completely understand if other ppl are bc it is a paid service. that being said, ik you pour so much love into ur craft, and it must be hard for you too to have to take a step back creatively. hoping all the hecticness at work is just temporary, whether it’s simply so that you have more time for yourself or to give u your usual channel runtime back 🫧

Ren

This is a very respectable way to look at it! I think that seeing you hold yourself to a better standard sets a good precedent for the future. Obviously take all the time you need BUT thank you regardless for being so candid and telling us the real shit. Sending all the good vibes your way and can't wait for the future!!

Shana

Thank you for addressing this. It was concerning that we hadn't gotten any posts for quite a few days, but then the other day there was an episode of the podcast and I felt conflicted.. It's understandable that things change, schedules get messed up, and I'm sure with the recent Youtube shit going on hasn't helped in the slightest but yeah... a heads up is all that I ask for. It's better than being left in the dark. I appreciate all the times where you've kept us in the loop when it comes to delays, and hope things will even out a bit better for you scheduling wise.

m.a.w.

Well put

TheRedRose

Thank you for filling us in, I know most of us appreciate all the work and effort you put into informing us about everything, I truly believe that things will get easier and better for you. I know you've been having major difficulties lately and your worried its affected your work on here. Even though some may be upset, (which they have a right to be in some degree.) I am not, I have never been upset over a single delay or issue that has ever occurred in the years of following and Subscribing. I know sometimes I have to unsubscribe for my own financial reasons but just as I hope that doesn't upset you, it doesn't upset me. I just hope that things get better and I worry that your not taking care of yourself first... delays and such are normal, your human. Take it easy and thank you for all the information and addressing the delays, make sure you don't stress yourself out. We're all okay. 💙💙💙

Treat

You handled this very well. In my opinion, your work as of late has been absolutely phenomenal- Your storylines stand in a class of their own when it comes to the world of audio dramas, and its clear that you put a lot of work into them. That being said, I'm sure none of us would complain if you gave yourself more grace and spread things out a bit so you can take care of yourself and make stuff at a rate that works for you. We just wanna know what you are up to so that theres no concern of 'Is Erik okay?' :)

Eli (Lio) ♡

i too have a bad habit of ghosting instead of admitting i have to delay something. the anxiety just wells up so much. the person who sent the message was saying what a lot of people, including myself, were thinking. but at the end of the day your wellbeing is first priority for a good amount of us. it's tough. adjust the releases as you should! we want you to keep creating <3

LucyM.

Hey Shana, can you tell me what's the name of the Podcast and where can I listen to it? Thanks I'm advance.

Shana

It's called the Hewll Yeah Podcast, and you can find them on youtube

SadLonelyBagel

Really do love you filling us in on the situation. It has been noticeable snd even a little worrying, but knowing that you plan to shake up the schedule to something more doable for yourself is a relief to hear. I love your stories and characters and usual chaos that is this channel and I want to stick around for it. if you find a once a week upload is more suitable for you or even once every other week, all I ask for is clarity on the schedule so that you can still deliver content while also not stressing yourself out. Looking forward to whatever trauma you give to your characters next

Blu_Phoenyx

Can't imagine the kind of anxiety you must've felt with juggling your personal life, working through those issues with YouTube, and addressing these changes and concerns altogether. Your stories are remarkable and your dedication to your work is admirable, but in the long run, you and your wellbeing are of upmost importance. Admitting you can't do certain things like you used to and/or want to is hard. Don't hesitate to give yourself permission to rest and adjust; I think everyone needs that every once in a while. I can't speak for everyone on paying for your Patreon content, but I feel it a privilege to support indie artists and story-tellers, no matter the circumstances. Not everyone can do that and their concerns are valid (I admit, the lack of updates scared me as well), but your value shouldn't be solely locked into what you can provide for others. It's important to take responsibility for the things you have control over and the promises you make, but don't be too hard on yourself, either. Like many of us have already said, you're just one person. You are human, so don't feel like you have to be creatively productive all the time. It is SO EASY to burn yourself out with your own works if you aren't careful, and while we all thoroughly enjoy your stories, please don't put yourself through the ringer for the sake of satiating everyone at your own expense. Not sure if this is helpful, or even remotely relevant (sorry about that ^^'), but I hope it helps a little. You are a phenomenal writer and voice actor, and just an all-around wonderful person, Erik. Give yourself a little more grace; you deserve it!

Lex Cordova

Work life balance is definitely important in any line of work. Even if it’s something you like doing. I can’t speak for everyone but I am glad that you are taking the time necessary to do what’s best for you and to change things up that best work for your schedule. Life is hard and it can get rough with the ups and downs. Your communication is appreciated. There is definitely a lot of people here that care about your well being and are appreciative of what you’ve given us. 💗

Remy Darling

I'm just here to support you, man. Artists don't get enough props. I mean, I get it--people being cranky or whatever, but I'm not one of them. I like your work, I had a little extra money, so I became a patron of your Patreon. I haven't even finished half of your videos on YT, so like, I have lots to play with still. Good luck, hon, but beware the burn out. It's real and it's sucks.
