Hux has always been so emotionally intelligent; always willing and open to talk and feel. That shined through so much here. And I'm so glad that they're mentioning and encouraging speaking to a counsellor. This is really good stuff - even if it hurts.

RainyDay

It was so good to hear from these two <3 Huxley is always such a warm blanket, no matter the situation. And Gavin my beloved, I'm glad his return to Aria was a comforting one. The hint of political intrigue regarding the Chorus was fascinating as well, I wonder who is responsible for the distance between the human and de(a)mon authorities? If it's just a general feeling of distrust between the two that keeps them apart or if there's someone in power within the Department that's making the decision to keep the Chorus in the dark? And mention of the breakouts again...hm. the plot thickens even in the midst of emotional turmoil. got me hook, line, and sinker, can't wait to see what happens next!

Ok so this hurt slightly less than the other 3 have. This was not what I was expecting when I saw both of these together in the tittle but loved it either way. Both boys still need all the hugs and love they can get. I'm glad Huxley's moms could help him some. Bless Gavin you can tell he's so emotionally drained from everything.

God the absolute lack of emotion in Hux’s voice. I mean it’s expected but it didn’t make me worry any less. He’s so strong. I feel like he’s definitely going to be leaned on the most. He seems the most together, even during The Inversion. I was half expecting the total opposite in this audio and for him to be a wreck (not something I wanted, something I was afraid of tho) but I’m glad he stayed true to his character and is just my soft, strong guy. And Gavin. I’m glad that he seems a little rested but the grief is so strong there. It’s painful that he feels Xavier was his fault and that Hux wouldn’t want to see him. Tbh all these Aftershocks are just making me more and more angry and ready to take on whoever is responsible. I hope they’re a tangible, feeling entity and they get everything they deserve.

These have all been incredibly emotional but Huxley had me in tears! Him talking about Xavier and how he's been processing everything absolutely hurt because it feels so real. Especially the advice his moms gave about feeling that pain after losing a friend, just ahhh so good! And with Gavin, I'm glad he was able to feel some relief being in Aria and that he could give himself some time. Also that extra bit of lore was really interesting!

Ya know how Hux always sounds like he's giving powerful, back cracking hugs? I didn't pick up on that this time. I feel like I spoke too soon when I said I was glad that no one was feeling emotionally detached. His moms seemed to snap him out of it, though. Parenting win! You know humans are wild AF when the daemons in Aria are staying in their lane and didn't know what went down. Individually, humans are intelligent, but together as a unit during uncertainty, there's nothing going on upstairs and hysteria ensues. I can relate to Gavin and I bet he's emotionally and mentally drained telling the chorus about his experience that night. Being an intersex advocate, I deal with that all the time.

I know that I must sound like a broken record in all of my Aftershock comments, but that's only because it is continuously true when I say: I'm in absolute awe of the emotional complexity and depth on display here! Each character's reaction and struggle is so uniquely realistic. And the intricate web weaved by all of those things put together... It's heartbreaking and beautiful, and true. Huxley's section was so lovely, and comforting, even in a time of such sadness and confusion. The supportive friendships and relationships presented are such a great thing. And the mentions of Xavier were touching. He will be missed, dearly ❤️ And in regards to Gavin's portion of the audio: There are no words to accurately express how much I loved it. Every second was amazing, and just brimming with emotion. There was such thoughtful resonance and meaningful impact. As a character, Gavin has so many facets, and we've gotten the opportunity to see so much of that depth and detail over time. It's a beautiful thing. Every time I think that I can't possibly love Gavin more than I already do, audios like this are released. And I love him even more ❤️ He's so complex! Honestly, Gavin isn't just one of my favorite Redacted Characters, he's one of my favorite fictional characters, period. In any media I've ever consumed. Believe me when I say that I could go on and on for hours, talking about why, haha. So, needless to say, I'm blown away and my heart is very full at the moment! Plus, it was interesting and worrisome to hear about potential distrust growing between The Department and The Chorus. Yikes. As always, thank you so much for all the out-of-this-world, astounding, stellar work you do, Erik! Marvelous stuff! 🥰💖🥰

The feeling of being in Huxleys’s warm embrace gives me comfort to keep moving I can see him hurting and freelancer feeling guilty for not being able to save Xavier just so he wouldn’t have to hurt of course he would still be sad about everyone that got hurt but his captain/friend dying is what really got to him.

Damein was so right when he said Huxley was a calming presence. Even after everything that's happened and without doing much at all besides voicing his feelings, he brings so much comfort. He's actively working through his trauma and grief in an open and healthy way that kinda just makes it seem achievable, if that makes sense. Like, if he can do it, then it's not as impossible as it feels. And that alone is comforting. I really liked that FL was the one to initiate the first hug, as well. Gavin needs to be allowed to rest. I understand the Chorus questioning him asap, but to be expected to relive something like that so soon after experiencing it? I'm no stranger to the odd panic attack but what Gavin went through, I'm sure there's no human equivalent. Exhausted isn't even the word. And if there's anyone feeling survivor's guilt right now, it's Gavin. Not just for Xavier but for every person that died that night. Knowing you have the power to help and being unable to is so much worse than not having the power to help at all. I hope we'll get to hear his and Hux's interaction.
