I also think that Porter is the one who provided Quinn with all the information about Sam's past that he had during the interview. Add to this theory. I believe Quinn gave Porter a description of Darlin's unempowered friend that he attacked that night (The one who got their memories erased) and Porter found them at the Bar with their "Friends" to get them into a relationship to bring them to the Summit to cause more drama. I'm probably completely wrong. But damn if I don't want it to be true!!!

I wonder if Porter is bringing Treasure to the Summit as a way to strong arm the Department into approving their application? While memory modification is “a thing”, advanced memory modification has to be done by a D(a)emon and, via Cam, those memories don’t disappear, the D(a)emon who did the modification comes into possession of those memories. Treasure will likely be privy to a lot of sensitive information about Clan goings on during the Summit and, via the Inversion, the Department doesn’t trust D(a)emons so far as they can throw them. While they certainly won’t be happy that an unempowered human is now in possession of a lot of sensitive information about the Clans, they may deem that preferable to a D(a)emon coming into possession of that knowledge. If that’s Porter’s angle, he’s so much more intelligent than anyone (in universe or out) has been giving him credit for.

That’s the question, isn’t it? Vincent accused Porter multiple times of being power hungry, which he didn’t refute. While the BA had a lot of great depictions of aftercare and informed consent, I do find the whole thing a little bit suspect as it’s moving so fast. I saw a comment positing that Porter and Treasure have met before with the possibility of Porter having modified their memories, and that’s a scenario I’m mulling over in my head. Porter gave Treasure the option to “enter” the magical world and he didn’t seem to make that offer on a whim. For all his playboy nature, Porter doesn’t strike me as a “whims” kind of guy. He came back for the summit knowing the person he hated most in the world (Vincent) would be there. There must be something that would make putting up with Vincent worth it for Porter. The question is: what is he hoping to get out of the summit? This is the biggest meeting of vampiric political power all year. Is Treasure part of that plan, or are they insurance if something goes askew? We’re missing a few pieces to the puzzle here.

Okay, two thoughts about this: that was a whole lot of backstory for 20 minutes (which I very much like). And I love how it gives Vincent and Porter more depth!! And (okay, actually 3 thoughs, not 2): I feel like it confirms my suspicions that Porter is much older than we realize. The way he talked about his early (?) years of being a vampire (being invoked to do shit, being beaten and that stuff) just gives me a very 18th/19th century feeling. Can't wait to see how this one plays out🥰🥰🥰

I'm still on my Porter is/was working with Quinn bs.. He calls Sam "Samuel" just like Quinn did. He referred to the person who asked him to come to the a summit an "Old Friend". Quinn is the only other person we hear reference another Vampire as a friend (Specifically. He trys to call Sam that). I don't believe Porter is doing any of this to be "Neferious" but more Gremlin like in nature. If the Theory that Treasure is Darlin's old friend that Quinn attacked.. That gives even more leeway into the idea that Porter is/was working with him. But for Treasure's sake. I hope he is genuine. Treasure seem like a doormat and would be absolutely crushed if they found out Porter is just using them. They already have a "Yes" mentality when it comes to him asking them anything and with the Summit. (Though, one leg up Treasure has on Darlin is that Porter Marked/Claimed then. Darlin doesn't have that. Shit they haven't even shifted officially for Sam. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️) If he asks Treasure to do something.. Risky .. ? I don't think they would say no.. He could just tell them it's "Normal Behavior" to act that way around empowered people and Treasure wouldn't know better... 😐

So thinking about it I don't think Quinn has anything to do with Porter For one thing, Porter ( for the most part) is tied to the clan. Quinn is very much not. Porter is much too smart to align himself to someone like Quinn. Secondly, the Summit is mostly framed around Vincent. Quinn has no real reason to go after Vincent when his main focus is Darlin/ Sam. He made that clear in his audios. Also, Quinn is in jail awaiting the death sentence. And with all the power of the department, Solaire Clan and the Shaw pack , I doubt he'll have access to a phone or laptop to contact anyone My main theory is that it was Alexis who called Porter back. Mostly to make the summit as difficult as possible for Vincent. Which seems up her alley. The other alternative is William. Considering Porter counts him as a friend and he even took his last name ( which seems to be a big deal to the Vampires) but as to the reasoning, I don't know. But that is my theory and I am looking for to Halloweek

My theory is that Alexis, has Porter come to the summit to force Sam to speak to her/interact with her. Putting a stran on his relationship with Darlin. Or a bigger plot twist, Porters plus one "Treasure", happens to be an old friend of Darlins that Quin hurt/threatened. What's everyone else's opinion!?

This was also what I was thinking. when we learned Vincent was just being handed the summit I thought it was weird. This is not something that William would just throw on to Vincent like he did. I think he’s testing Vincent trying to see how he would react to putting the summit together.

Okokok I wanna get in on the theorizing. SO if we look at the way the evils kind of follow plot, we get Quinn, who was a horrible person and followed this kind of narritive where he was clearly the bad guy. And the same honestly goes for most of the BBEG’s in the Redactedverse. They bring up moral philosophies that are clearly wrong. However what do we get from Porter? An apology about Vincent’s turning, where he realizes some of the things he was in the wrong about. Also, clear backstory about the trauma he has had to endure by being turned. He was also willing to work with Vincent in the beginning, Vincent threw the first insult. IDK what it means gang but I’m hoping for a complex character development arc for both Vincent and Porter, and not just like “oh haha look at this bad guy.”

i watched this before but i just came here to comment that i love the writing in this because it really showed us the difference in perspectives, understanding, and views of the house and powers and abilities gained from the turning itself and of course different relations and dynamics to william... i see them as siblings with porter being the eldest, sam the middle, and vincent the youngest. as someone with younger sibling, i understand porter because sometimes it feels like you have to constantly fight to even have something good in life, but your younger sibling have it handed to them. even though that was wrong cause the reality is also hard to vincent. i think when you don't have something good for a long time, then you gain power, you become really protective of it because it's more about the security and freedom it allows you to have, something you didn't have before from what i got in porter's story here. with vincent it's like he suddenly have responsibilities and expectations he didn't even ask for, let alone want. so there are resentments from both sides and the writing's so good! i also love sam choosing to get them together because i think he can understand both porter and vincent's sides as he knows both their stories (even if not all), but he's wise enough to see this through and know better than fall for misunderstandings and build-up resentment and be the middle ground in this
