I just listened to the latest "Next Cheneration" yesterday! I never deleted it from my podcast feed, so yeah I'm one of the ones still listening sometimes :). Congrats to you and your family on the new niece!

I need Joy discussing politics and culture at least twice a week.

I have to add that my friends and I are pretty politically tuned in (including one of my friends who's a former journalist) and none of us were aware of the Beyonce/Swift rumors?? I kind of wish we'd heard of them, since it would've made it a bit more interesting watching the fourth night (which certainly dragged at times). Ended off on a great note though!

I'm so grateful for these conversations...I can't think of anyone else's summaries and analyses that I value more. I especially appreciate Dave's relentless focus on holding political and mainstream media accountable for having learned practically nothing from 2016 and 2020; and also Joy's absolute, passionate commitment to abortion rights. One question: do you ever hear from listeners/readers who support Trump or who identify as "conservatives" (in the current sense of the term)? An observation: one important thread that I noticed was woven through the DNC was the repeated mention of mothers, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, etc., and motherhood in general. Not in a regressive way, but holding up women as sources of communal strength and inspiration. SO MANY speakers spoke about the influence of their mothers, including Kamala herself. This was a somewhat subtle theme, but I thought it had an underlying--and moving--resonance. One more thing: just once, I'd like a reporter to grill J. D. Vance about his cozy relationship with the reprehensible tech gazillionaire Peter Thiel, who was an important mentor to Vance and donor to his Senate campaign. Does anyone ever ask Vance how his thinking and worldview have been shaped by Thiel, David Saks, and other amoral Silicon Valley tech-bros? These guys are primarily the ones who pushed the robot-like Vance into the VP slot, and I don't hear any political reporters asking Vance enough about those formative relationships. So glad you two are along for this ride! Thank you....

I agree so much on the Gus Walz point. I was very uncomfy with the widespread use of his learning disability as a defense where none was needed.

Really enjoying these political leaning episodes. Good job.

I am really enjoying these political episodes. AOC recently was on an episode of 99% invisible where she talks about how she has changed her strategies on how she gets things done. I can’t help seeing everything she is doing now through that lens. It is really remarkable

I’m a week behind on my listening. Another fantastic episode!!
