Thanks for the shout out! Funny how No Going Outside has turned to lots of going outside to knock on doors. Keeping from overheating and dehydration, to be honest coming from Thailand I rather be sweating than needing hand warmers. And I agree, there is definitely a lot of emotional processing going on under the hood of doing this volunteer work! Great line by Dave at the end about vote for who you want to negotiate with, will use that.

After listening to you guys (and Pod Save America), I canvassed for the first time 2 weeks ago in the metro Detroit area and have 3 more dates scheduled because you’ve convinced me it’s the most effective strategy . It is very much NOT in my nature or upbringing to walk up to strangers’ homes and knock on their doors but Joy inspires me and helps me be brave. Dave, a lot of men would be unsupportive if they were in your shoes. The respect you have for Joy and her decisions is evident. I appreciate you both and love when you podcast together.

If someone stood at my door for a full minute, i would not really think anything of it. I’m either intending to answer or I’m not intending to answer regardless of the wait time. Separately, if you’re staying in Madison, I’m sure there are a ton of great places to eat but i really enjoyed takeout from Ruyi Hand Pulled Noodle when i was there for work recently. Keep up the awesome work, Joy! This diary format is a great listen.
