I always enjoy these conversations. I recently finished a book on the 1300s. I will share the link below, but the thing that struck me is that while I agree that things have gotten worse in the last 10 years, I don’t think that necessarily means that they also can’t get better. I think it’s bullshit that Left and Liberal-minded people can’t talk openly, honestly, and must walk on eggshells when something like this happens, and “the Right” celebrates every bit of violence that isn’t directed at them. The dichotomy between all of our public-facing communication and our private chats must be wild.

What do you think getting better looks like in this case?

David Cho

I think it’s just a general fear around government retaliation that is just a real fear atm

That’s a very good question. I don’t know exactly. But I have hope and optimism. The 1300s had : Black Plague - killed 50% of population!! There were two Pope's and For $ you could absolve any sin & buy a position in church England and France Fought a war for a 100 years - back and forth Things were bleak - everyone said it was the worst of times But things got better! Printing Renaissance Reformation Etc etc. Not all at once but they did improve and so I hope we can figure out a better path as go forward.

Sadly I think things are going to get a lot worse before they begin to get better.
