Instant play, can’t wait to hear about your first impressions. Gotta update the “consider whether/how to” of the pod description!

I couldn’t click play faster for this episode! You two look so happy in the picture.

Mouthed "what the actual fuck" at the very moment @joy spoke the words. Hilarious. Hate that it's been worse than y'all planned but my heart's warm that you both are there, safe, together, and somewhat insulated from the terrors happening elsewhere in the world. Much love to you both! Tchau!

1-2000 objects?!?!?

I know this is my Americanism showing but i would need to speak to the manager immediately

Congrats on arriving over here in Europe! 🙌 I really enjoyed this episode and all the little differences you noticed. It will be interesting to see if you get used to people being more direct / honest. Cinemas can be very different across Europe, with a big variety in size and design. In general, I find the projection quality here way better than in the U.S., though Dolby Cinema and IMAX are pretty much the same everywhere. I am curious, now that you have moved to Portugal, would you rather live closer to the city centre, maybe even in Lisbon, to make the language barrier a bit easier?

Congratulations on a successful move. Europe just gained two good people! I wanted to note that the story about the Pakistani civil engineer reminded me of The Brutalist. Will we ever learn the immense value that immigrants can provide to a society?

Chris

Great honest discussion about your first days and your ups and downs. Thanks for sharing. Not sure if it's any comfort to you, but Google Maps says that the distance between you and the shitshow back home is 5,100 miles (8,200 km).

Congratulations on making the move. I’ll be curious how good the AirPod live translation works in the real world.

One question hit me recently in regards to all of this: what about Dave’s poker-journey? I realize that it’s probably not at the top of the priority-list right now but as someone who’s been following your poker-journey I’d be curious to hear if you have looked into the local poker-scene of Porto or if there is any other good possibilities nearby.

David Chen

Linus: In all honesty, I think the poker journey is largely on hold for now. That said, it is possible I will try to compete in the European Poker Tour in Prague in December 2025. If so, you'll hear about it again!
