So David Cho listened to the most recent episode of The Filmcast and concluded that he needs to see Magic Mike? I have questions

Idea: I would pay for a decoding everything audio version

David Chen

I appreciate that! I currently have three ways that people can pay me and I really don’t want to start a 4th. I’m very sensitive to inconveniencing people. But I appreciate the suggestion!

The name of the new show should be “The Weekly Decode”

Nathaniel St. Clair

The weekly show is great idea. Hope you can add more than just TV content. General culture like internet trends, things you read that made you think, stuff that happened to you in life… like your diary shows during the beginning of COVID. Those were some of my favorite content of yours, and I’ve listened to you for over a decade.

Decoding Everything I think is a good name for the show. And it can be directly linked to your newsletter.

I can’t put my finger on why, but I feel pretty confident in saying this is the best Dave on Dave yet. Also, snobby food content: I had to look up who replaced the Noma guy as a consultant on The Menu, and it’s Dominique Crenn! Which makes so much sense in hindsight — I told a friend immediately after we watched it that the early “taste the island” course looked exactly like a dish I had at Atelier Crenn. (Which is an absolutely incredible restaurant to try if anyone here is ever in SF)

4.5 (as a completionist, I cannot comprehend anyone turning off before the end). Also FWIW, I liked Dave Chen’s name for the new show better.

True story: I made this comment when there was still like 10 minutes left in the episode. Me saying it’s the best episode wasn’t even a reaction to David Cho soliciting feedback; it’s just how I felt! 4.5/5

Jeremy Elkayam

I rate this episode 4.5/5. A triumphant return for the "Dave on Dave" franchise. Loved the food talk.
