Dave on Dave is an ongoing series in which David Cho and David Chen gather together to discuss life and work. Also, usually David Cho has some harsh words to say about David Chen's stuff!

In this episode, we discuss the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA strike, how David Fincher's The Killer was impacted by  the state of the digital media industry, and what poker has to teach us about succeeding at life.

Hi. I fess up as the potatok leaker. Sorry! Had a Gen-X moment. I’ll stay in my lane from now on.

David Chen

Thanks for your understanding, Derek!

I think the best way to remind listeners that Dave on Dave content should remain private would be an informative theme song, at the start of each episode, sang by the two of you.

I have sympathy for the poster because all of my podcasts come in on a single feed and it all blends together. I'm not sure what is behind a paywall and what isn't because it all gets mixed up. Combine that with the parasocial nature of the medium and it is easy to reach out on social media, being overly friendly, and accidentally sharing something secret.

Congrats on the tournament win! And imo you should do whatever you want with Patreon $ Indeed, your playing is making for entertaining stories — please keep ‘em coming!

Excited to hear about the potential return of Scott Mendelson, love hearing his take on the box office and the occasional interruption of the show for a birthday party ;) And I couldn't possibly care less what you spend the Patreon money on.

One of the FEW things I miss about twitter in the pretty-good ol’ days was your Sunday morning/afternoon twitter-space discussions with Scott. The guy has amazing knowledge and insights, and y’all had great chemistry in your convos. Fingers crossed you can find a way to bring back those discussions, or to come up with some sort of new collab with him.

Dave Cho is the opposite of Dave Chen: he only refers to his friends by first name, no matter how famous

Carole Mariani

Yes to spending patreon money on literally anything you want

Carole Mariani

Ok maybe not literally… i thought of a few things that would be upsetting after i posted this, but I trust you.

👏 congrats on the poker haul, Dave! Do we need a new patreon tier for dedicated gambling funds, perhaps? Podcast episodes breaking down the action :chefskiss:
