Dave on Dave is an ongoing series in which David Cho and David Chen gather together to discuss life and work. Also, usually David Cho has some harsh words to say about David Chen's stuff!

In this episode, David Cho reflects on how he can improve his own podcast dynamic, the true function of podcasts, and whether/how David Chen should get into making poker content for the Patreon.

PATRONS: You can get this audio in your podcast app by going to patreon.com/davechen, going to the "My Membership" section, and copying and pasting the RSS link to your podcast app.

Totally understand wanting to evaluate what you put out from a third party perspective for privacy and perception reasons. I would think that the ability to go back and edit episodes might allow you to “be yourself” in your discussions given that you’re in control of the final cut (live episodes excluded). This discussion implied that you both (i) have your guard up to some degree and (ii) sometimes implement edits. Is that because the redundancy gives you more comfort, is it so you don’t have to go back through every episode with a fine toothed comb afterwards, or is it just a subconscious demeanor you fall into when the recording is on?

Probably some combination of all of the above!

Consider this a vote for the poker content. We’re already rooting for you in other things you do. Winning wouldn’t be the end goal, though nice to aim for. We’d love to hear the journey, and would love to hear the stories about any matches.

The reason I think poker content from Dave would be good is the life/business lessons he's already talked about getting out of it. I couldn't care less about poker, but I'd listen to Dave Chen talk about basically anything.
