'The Holiday' Cottage

For our last Watercolour Hang out of the year you really outdid yourselves! I was bowled over by your truly beautiful paintings of the Cottage from the Holiday. Wild Rose and Cherry Blossom tier can watch the recording back. The post is also for sale as a stand alone video in my Patreon shop. Thank you so much for another year of wonderful watercolour hang outs, they are a real highlight of my month each time.

Christmas Markets

My photos aren't up to much this week as we are so busy with work but Crumble and I had a quick sit down and a coffee at the Exeter Christmas market before we embarked on a long drive to north wales.

Storm Darragh

This weekend Storm Darragh arrived and brought down trees and powerlines with its 90mph winds. We were driving up to North Wales, following almost exactly, this red area - the worst place to be! Luckily our travel days were either side of the storm so we were fine.

Wreath Making 1 & 2

Ant's brother and his family live in North Wales so we were headed up to see them. I'm so glad we made it as one of the activities was a charity evening of wreath making which I loved! I'm so busy with work it's been feeling like we will never stop and get in the christmas spirit!

My reading list

Many of you will know that tennis is a huge passion of mine, it's what I do to relax when I'm not painting! However, it's a real love hate relationship and I'm currently enjoying an indefinite hiatus from the sport (in the hope that I might miss it and want to return). I had heard that Andre Agassi never actually liked tennis and that his autobiography is incredible. I downloaded it to my kindle for our long drive to North Wales and haven't put it down. Absolutely brilliant.

Work doesn't stop

At this time of year I tell myself I've finished work, which isn't actually true as there seems to be so much to do. This didn't stop me taking on a few last minute painting jobs. Here the surface of the moon is being painted for a homeware product for next year's range for a global company.

Family portrait with a difference

This row of welly boots is a sweet family portrait commissioned for Christmas. It's lovely to be able to fit things like this in when I know they will mean so much to the recipient.

Loving your camera roll. I think you must be Wonder Woman to fit in everything you do. Maybe you should give up tennis and take up wreath making it look’s lovely . Thank you for another wonderful year of watercolour . Merry Christmas to you, Ant and of course Crumble. May your days be Merry and Bright. Robyn from Australia.

Ah thank you Robyn. I'm very bad at saying no to doing things, but the joy of an evening doing nothing is the best thing of all as it's so rare!

Just been reading your posts from a year ago . I live in Essex but I come from North Wales and I know what a trek it can be in the winter months but always wonderful to drive through Snowdonia . I too am a big tennis fan and was really lucky this year to get tickets for the ladies finals which quite a tragic affair for poor Amanda . However it was great to be at such an Iconic venue and we watched the British men’s doubles win the championship which was amazing . . Pleased you had a lovely warm holiday and I look forward to all your festive topics that I can paint with your inspiration this year .
