Watercolour Challenge 221: Loose Watercolour Buildings (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone, you may have thought we were done with Le Vin Perdu but we have one last piece of the puzzle! When you spend a long time on a detailed painting, it's the perfect opportunity to have a go at painting it fast and loose!
I love loose watercolour buildings and street scenes. They seem to convey an accurate scene with a real economy of painting. Have a go at this exercise and see how you get on.
I had a second go after filming and I have attached that second painting below. I learned lots from the first attempt and that is what I want to emphasise: Getting it right first time is as likely as winning the lottery. However happy you are with a first painting, be sure in the knowledge that trying it a minutes, hours or days later will be the best lesson you can learn of your own art.
You will need:Cold pressed paper the same size as your other painting.
Brushes I used: Pointed round size 8,4,0 Mop Brush, Flat Brush
Colours I used :Cobalt Blue Deep, Winsor Blue, Buff Titanium, Sap Green, Green Gold, Deep Sap Green, Ivory Black, Paynes Grey, Burnt Sienna, Cadmium Orange.
Share your paintings on Discord and let me know what you thought of the process of painting loose!
