Watercolour Hang out Landscapes

It was so lovely to use photos from our Discord Photo sharing server, featuring three Patron's landscape photos! Here is the third one and the last page in my Sketchbook. I bought that sketchbook solely for the watercolour hangouts back in May 2023 and it's amazing to have filled it. I've ordered a new sketchbook which I hope will arrive in time for our next hang out on Wednesday. All will be revealed then!

Start 'em young

I have been helping my mum sort through the family photos and I came across this photo of three year old me and my godparent's litter of puppies in the lake district. I was enamoured with dogs from such a young age, nothing has changed!

Valentines Day 1&2

We're not ones to make much of a fuss but Ant treated me to an amazing night at a BBQ banquet at High Grange Devon. Highly recommended for BBQ courses and banqueting events!

New Colours for 2025!

I've spent the last few weeks researching new colours in advance of putting together a completely fresh palette. My loxley folding palette was getting marked and scuffed - usually that's no problem at all but when filming I like to have a really clean palette so you can see the colours I'm mixing. This video will be on Youtube on Tuesday of this week

This week on Patreon

We're starting a lovely new landscape painting on the Watercolour challenge. So many of you asked for landscapes in You Choose Youtube and I was so inspired to hear about 'Sugaring Season' in Quebec that I decided we'd paint a sugar shack in the woods. This will be a three week painting with each episode landing weekly on Wednesday mornings as always. You can see the first stage and then the finished piece in the photo carousel.

Thursday on Youtube

You asked for a clothesline and that is what I've painted for Thursday. I also used it as an opportunity to try out my new Colour Shaper

Last but not least

I have painted some emojis following on from your wonderful suggestions on Discord. I have more that aren't on this page but we have launched a fun thing on Youtube called the 'Alizarin Crimson Crew' on Youtube. (look for the 'Join' button just below the channel heading) It's the same price as the Daisy tier and is a way for people on Youtube to support the channel who aren't so keen on making the most of all the perks of Patreon. When you become a member on Youtube you will get the equivalent perks of the Daisy tier - just housed on Youtube. And you get a little membership badge designed like a paint tube which changes colour the longer you're a member, and you get to use my hand painted emojis in your comments! As I'm only starting out they limit me to four emojis and add more as my membership grows. It's a bit of fun and please remember nothing changes here or on Youtube if you're not a member. We are doing a video on Youtube all about it on Friday.
