Crumble!

We received some very good news from the Vet; Crumble has the all clear and his stitches will be out tomorrow so no more pink onesie! Thank you so much for all your good wishes xxx.

Mini March Flowers

I'm so glad you continue to enjoy our mini flowers range. I spent the weekend painting the March minis and we've spread onto a second page! For those of your who want exact measurements I can confirm that the 'squares' are 5.7cm x 6.5cm on my 12x9 inch sheet but with a tiny bit extra height on the bottom row. Look out for these on social media and then in long form on here.

Card making

One afternoon this week I just didn't feel like doing any real work so I spent a very happy few hours painting, cutting a sticking together a card for my best friend's daughter. I was told her current favourites are Science, Baking and Pikachu. I turned all the little paintings into stickers too (Sweet Pea level tutorial on turning paintings into stickers coming next week!)

Art Inspiration

I was invited to a private viewing at the RWA in Bristol this week to an exhitibion of Paule Vézelay's work. The exhibition is called Living Lines. Paule Vézelay went to my old school 100 years ago so it was wonderful to see an artist who had trod a similar educational path to my own.

Up and Coming

Alongside Paule Vézelay: Living Lines, there is an exhibition of current students at the RWA and this little painting caught my eye. By Eilbhe Donovan, 'Beyond the Start' is ink and pencil on paper. I thought it might inspire us all to keep it simple when it comes to landscapes.

Creative beginnings

While in Bristol I caught a production of The Winter's Tale at the Tobacco Factory Theatre directed by my good friend and former colleague Heidi Vaughan. The Winter's Tale is my favourite Shakespeare and the play that really opened my eyes to design. It was so nice to see this production in a theatre where I spent many years designing shakespeare. In the photo is one of my best friends Polly who used to be a stage manager in the same company.

This week on Youtube: Pancake Day!

It is Shrove Tuesday tomorrow which means PANCAKES! I've wanted to paint a piece like this for a while and it was on the You Choose Youtube list too. This is a fantastic tutorial for anyone who wants to get to grips with glazing.

This week on Youtube: Ocean Spray

Another You Choose Youtube request, you will need some white acrylic for the ocean waves crashing against the rocks.

Looking forward to painting the seascape with the dramatic stormy sky.

Good news about crumble. That outfit oh my gosh. I tried to put my cat in something like that for Christmas. Let's just say it did not go well. She was not best pleased with me and deployed her claws to express that :).
