There aren't many pictures this week apart from constantly snapping spring flowers shooting out of the ground. We've had a week of warm weather and it feels amazing!

Primroses

I love to paint primroses more for the mix of greenery and shadow in the background. I'm looking forward to painting this cluster that has burst out of the banks up our drive.

Narcissus

We've got a narcissus mini flower tutorial out this week. It's so lovely to see the many different varieties out and about. We visited some friends who live on a country estate with many frolicking lambs just out of shot.

Arty Party

I was entrusted with the very important job of party art teacher for my neice's 8th Birthday this weekend. Never has a more intimidating workshop presented itself! This was one of many projects I'd prepared, mask templates on watercolour paper for our watercolour class. We also did pottery painting and reverse colouring. They absolutely loved it even if they were all up dancing and doing fancy dress at every ten minute interval!

This week on Youtube

You asked for a Japanese White Eye Warbler in You Choose Youtube. I found a photo reference which called itself a Malagasy white eye bird but I think they are similar. It was lovely painting this soft background contrasted with the detail in the foreground

Stickers!

On the Patreon watercolour challenge (sweet pea tier) I have a craft project for you all. We're turning our mini flower paintings into stickers! Dont worry, no paintings were harmed in the making of this video. It's all about scanning and printing. And you dont need a cricut maching (or equivalent) to do this. If you would like to access this tutorial on Wednesday you can edit your membership on your account page.

St Patrick's Day on March 17th

There are many requests for a St Paddy's Day themed tutorial on You Choose Youtube so here we have a lovely loose arrangement of Shamrocks.

Lovely! Still lots of snow here in New England, but the sap is running for maple syrup so spring is not far!

Susan Ing

The bird looks lovely, thank you for choosing my suggestion! The Malagasy white eye bird is found in Madagascar and surrounding areas, not Japan but they are part of the same family and are very similar. I'm really looking forward to giving this one a try, and the shamrocks look lovely 😊. I hope to be able to give the stickers a go too!

Susan Hammitt

I can't wait to see the bird. I love the pictures.

You have some beautiful ideas here! I wish I had a way to make stickers! They look great! I just read your comments and hope to try the stickers.

Paula

I just saw they have trees tapped in Wisconsin

I do miss my home in Manchester, but not the snow. Are you heading to any if the maple sugar barns for pancakes?

Kiersten Scarponi

I hope too soon, nothing else like sugar on snow!
