Hi everyone, here is a painting project to get stuck into. This is an angled look at a lovely wedding venue in Devon that I have often done stationery for. I was commissioned to paint this and it struck me that it would be a perfect project to draw and paint as there is a lot of technical skill involved. This project is in 4 parts.

This is a 'one point perspective' image. I will explain all in the video.

With this in mind, complete beginners -and those who find drawing difficult- will find todays drawing lesson challenging as we are using perspective and a bit of maths to draw this. I would like to encourage everyone to at least have a go and try out the theory as it is such a useful thing to learn. But if it feels too complicated to complete the drawing you can always trace the photo (reference image attached).

You will need:

A print out of the reference photo (mine is 4x5 inches)

cold pressed watercolour paper

hb pencil

set square

ruler

(if you are tracing, a light box)

Files

This looks amazing. One point perspective is good fun, will be a refresh on sketching skills.

The prep is a bit difficult

Yes this one is challenging so there is the option to simply trace if you need to.

Thank you very much Harriet, because I really wanted to learn perspective, I was so much focus on it that I Buy some books, but couldn't do it. Thank you again
