I am very excited to invite you to join me in the Algarve region of Portugal for a week-long painting retreat! April 28 - May 5th 2026!

Patrons are hearing about this first, we launch the retreat on Youtube tonight at 5:30pm.

We will enjoy a week of painting plants and flowers in my new botanical style and an introduction to watercolour sketching whilst out and about in the beautiful Portuguese town of Lagos nearby.

By the end of the retreat, you'll get to create your own frame-worthy compositions; a botanical snapshot of your time in Portugal, pages of painting practice and a huge sense of achievement with some new friends.

This retreat is perfect for all abilities; we will start with the fundamentals of watercolour painting and then move on to studying plants & flowers, choosing a colour palette, composing an arrangement on the page all so we can create beautiful pieces of art that you can hang on the wall and be proud of.

Nestled along the sun-soaked Algarve coast, your venue is a chic Portuguese Quinta. Praised by The Times and Life Magazine as "a jewel of the Algarve," this private estate combines natural beauty with modern comforts. Set atop a hill, it offers sweeping views of Lagos, the Marina, and the endless ocean.

We have a few short day trips to visit the local Portuguese town as well as a gentle sailing trip around the coast one morning. We are limited to 16 guests so it will be a real bonding experience. Imagine being around like minded people who have the same joy of painting; these retreats have the potential to be life-changing.

The villa has a range of beautiful accommodation, single and shared rooms. Accommodations are situated within the main villa and a serene cottage, with each room featuring a private balcony or patio, en-suite bathrooms with underfloor heating, plush bathrobes, and high-quality Portuguese Castelbel toiletries. We create a Facebook group in advance of the retreat so we can all get to know each other and connect.
