End of the Birthday month!
It's been the closing ceremony of Birthday and wedding anniversary celebrations this week (here I am at the Queens Club tennis with my siblings and spouses). I feel very lucky!
The amazing effects of a limited palette
In the livestream class we painted a sunny windowsill with a limited palette of 4 colours. It's a great way to really focus the mind and push your creativity and mixing skills. Cherry Blossom members can watch the recording back on Patreon now.
Our 8th Wedding Anniversary
Here I am with Ant for a wedding anniversary lunch at Le Vin Perdu, a restaurant which many of you painted early in the year!
English Country Garden
I experimented in my sketch book with some pastel crayons as well as watercolour paints to fill a page with wild roses. I sat in my friend Emma Carlisle's garden which is bursting with flowers at the moment. It was a lovely way to spend a few hours
Making a mess
Another page from this painting session where I zoomed out and painted a larger section of the garden. I enjoyed scrubbing pastels onto large areas and then removing the colour with a wet brush. It's a fun and important way to get creative, to try new things and not worry about the outcome. That's what sketchbooks are for!
Collaging
I really enjoyed putting together a digital scrapbook of my sketches, souvenirs and photos from our day at Roland Garros.
