Hi everyone, there aren't too many photos this week but the ones I've got for you are EXCITING!

What's on the Menu

*Please do not share*. All these lovely little kitchen illustrations are a very exclusive and early peek at the kind of thing I will be teaching in my new book. It will have a daily little tutorial with various themes and chapters. It's a LOT of work but a lot of fun too.

Getting Creative on the new painting desk

I've been documenting my thoughts about how to reconnect with my creativity on social media but noone has seen any of the paintings I've been doing at my new painting station...until now. Just for you, I'm sharing some of my musings on blossom!

It's official

It's not quite as exciting as the other images but I'm officially a member of a golf club now! Yikes! I'm going on the course on Tuesday for the first time - terrified doesnt even come close but I'm looking forward to playing alongside my Mum who is brilliant.

Orange!

On Youtube this tuesday we've got a deep dive into the orange tones I've got in my palette with some tutorial suggestions of some of my favourite orange based tutorials.

Morning Glow

On Patreon we are continuing our look at simple and effective landscapes in the weekly watercolour challenges (every Wednesday for Sweet pea tier and above) with some beautiful colourful skies. This is a great look at how to keep colours vibrant and how to avoid overworking colours from opposite ends of the colour spectrum. I loved painting these pieces, I hope you will to.

Is Alizarin Crimson a red?

On Thursday we take a look at the red shades in the palette and how dramatically they differ when mixed with primaries. It's another great reminder for the best practice when mixing and a showcase of some lovely tutorials to try if you love the colour red!

Beautiful! Great book idea Harriet! Looking forward to you sharing thoughts about your new painting station - looks like you are painting on a "drafting table" that tilts. I work at my kitchen table and my paintings/drawings (especially buildings) tend to 'lean' left or right. I've heard working on a tilted surface can help with that... :)

Don't forget to take your paints onto the golf course, you never know, you might just get inspired to paint the landscape, trees or other golfers while you're there.

I always think, I have enough books and then you taunt me with your latest ideas and I think well I definately need this one as well. Can't wait to hear about the oranges and reds and of course trying the landscapes. I have been having fun with the others.

As Old Tom Morris would say, "Hit 'em far and sure," Harriet!!! And those REDS...oooooLaLa!!!

I tell you what, I'll certainly take my paints skiing with me in a few weeks

Yes it does tilt, i'm quite enjoying a very slight tilt as long as I've got somewhere level for my water jars

Amazing pictures! I love the content for your new book. I'm already making space to place that one. I'm looking forward to everything that you are sharing here. Thank you Harriet!

Love the morning glow paintings . It’s amazing what watercolours can do when we allow them to spread and do their thing . I had no idea when I first started painting . Hope there are some of these landscapes and other nature topics in your new book . Good luck with all the hard work .

Harriet, I really enjoyed your camera roll, especially the orange and red displays! It also looks like your next book is going to be wonderful! I’m looking forward to it🩷
