Hi everyone, I've been filling my sketchbooks with some whimsical places recently, it's felt lovely! We've got a few painting adventure vlogs coming your way in the coming months.
Jacksons Art Away Day at Hestercombe Gardens
I joined 100 other artists to paint the landscapes of Hestercombe last week. It was a day of endurance painting, a numb bum and trying to keep warm but I came away with a great sense of achievement! You'll see the painting process in great detail next week on Youtube.
Tulip Fest
Another nice day of weather meant an opportunity to go back to Tulip fest at Darts Farm and paint some of the field of tulips! It was a really nice experience which you can watch on Youtube tomorrow in vlog form!
This week on Patreon Watercolour Challenge
We have a second house from Lacock, this time half timbered and on an angle. It's a great little challenge and one I really hope you try as it's a great exercise in simplifying architecture and a lesson on getting a painting done in a single session.
Back to Basics
On Thursday's Youtube we're going back to botanical basics with a really helpful reminder of how to anchor your petals when painting flowers. It's important to balance the more complex tutorials with these reminders of the fundamentals and hopefully this will be really useful.
