Hi everyone, welcome to You Pick, We Paint! This is where you can make suggestions for themes and topics that will inform the content I put out over the next month. Last month your suggestions featured in Youtube tutorials, on livestreams and social media reels! I have still to do Meadowlarks and Nightingale for May and those will be top of the list for June.

It's time for you to submit your suggestions for June by commenting below.

These suggestions will inform my content across all platforms and formats (which will be outlined in the monthly bulletin) relevant for choosing topics to paint on Patreon and on my Social Media reels. I try to include at least 4 of your suggestions for the month. Before commenting please read the bullet points below:

Results will be posted in the June bulletin which is published at the start of the new month

First check on my Youtube channel if your suggestion has already been covered.

I am more likely to choose seasonal ideas.

Sue Davison

I second the castle / vines or lighthouse 😎🫶🏻

Carol Barnard

Hi Harriet I don’t think you have painted an agapanthus so I would like to see that particularly the firework variety.

Stew Hall

🤣🤣🤣 i think we wanted to paint it as a pop up card

Stew Hall

A platypus or echidna

Would love Another storybook page like the bullfinch. Maybe a seasonal theme about a garden/farm, or another bird, animal, botanical or architectural. Even sea/ocean life might be interesting and fun 🤩

Erin Berlin

Haha true! We still can!

BeeDub

Surfboard Rental Shack - my 81 year old dad is still out on the waves “hanging ten”

That would be nice. I have one of this exact drawing in my new book but that will take a bit of time!

we've got a really nice castle on Patreon in the watercolour challenges.

Krithiga Gopalan

A watercolour challenge: watercolour woman/ child on horse.

Bec Fowler

A wombat in the autumn Aussie bush. ☺️

Ann Marie

Giant Sailboats at sunset

we've got a lovely livestream class with this exact thing on the cherry blossom tier

Textures. I love when a painting looks like you could touch it and feel that texture. For example, you taught us/me how to paint primrose leaves so they actually look bumpy & puffy. And papery lichen on a branch! I really appreciated those. Maybe a knit scarf or sweater (a fisherman’s knit? Too fussy?) An old tree stump with moss and tree fungus?

Divya Mathur

Would love to paint some summer scenes from beaches or pools ☺️ Maybe with people enjoying summer activities or relaxing on the beach (or by the pool). I love how you approach painting people and would love to learn more ❤️

NickiV

Fresh Farm Stand season appropriate

Beautiful to paint

Rainbow Row in Charleston, SC, USA or old Live Oak tree with Spanish moss.

ilona van der tang

I'm so sorry😊realy surged for it, only found the miniaturen ones...but I will look again. Sorry 💗

Jessica

A bbq scene, bonfire scene, or New England/ Maine summer themed scene, or fun summer fashions paintings or collages. All good things summer. 🤩

Kelly Holliday

Card idea for teachers for end of year.

Erin Berlin

Is there a sandcastle somewhere in the collection?

Erin Berlin

I love all the "recipe cards" we have done in the past. I think we need more!

Kim M

I just realized what I really want to suggest: Camel's Hump, Vermont, USA. It's the first mountain I've hiked and I did it with my daughter right before she graduated from UVM this year. I've been trying to paint it as a surprise gift for her. Although my attempts are improving, they are missing detail and lightness.

Susan Ing

Horses or donkeys on a beach

Kathryn Chandler

Lapwing with those wonderful shades of green and purple on the wings plus the feathery crest on its head . They are in decline but wj

Lapwing with those magical luminous purple and green shades on the wings plus the feathery crest on its head . They are in decline but when you see them flying they are fabulous tumbling through the air - fantastic acrobats .

BeeDub

I just read that June is the early honey harvests for light, mild honeys - a honey wand drizzling honey onto a biscuit or back into a honey pot would be pretty

Romina

How about a nice colorful cocktail? Maybe with some fruit in/surrounding it? The glass and icecubes might be a nice challenge to paint.

Kelly Mansulich

There’s an old saying “marry in June, you’ll be a bride all your life..” would love to see bride and groom in getaway car with just married sign on back or a wedding cake or both! Can you tell I have 2 nieces getting married soon?

Carol Barnard

How about some swallows flying of on a telegraph wire.

Julie

Lupins vote for me too :) they look so pretty at the moment!

Jessica

Awesome! I’ll have a look for it!

Kathryn Chandler

Thank you Harriet I didn’t know and will look for that . I love those birds .

Kathryn Chandler

Hi Harriet , Thanks for your reply about the Lapwing . I have looked forward it but cannot seem to find it . Please can you give me some guidance . I have put in ‘lapwing ‘ and tried’ birds’ on the search in the you tube videos but nothing is coming up . Have you got a link ? Sorry to trouble you . Many thanks . Kathryn

Kathryn Chandler

Sorry cannot find the lapwing on you tube - any clues to where it is ?
