Ant's Birthday!
We've had a lovely final weekend of celebrations for Ant's 40th Birthday. This picnic up on Dartmoor was seriously special - the weather cooled down just enough to be bearable outside. I even brought my paints to have a quick sketching session.
Birthday Cake!?
Those of you who have watched the Alien films might chuckle at this attempt to make an Alien 'egg' cake. Totally disgusting but a creative endeavour which I thought should be documented! We played a Dungeons and Dragon one shot game themed around the Alien films. Everyone had a lot of fun and then were amazed and disgusted in equal measure when I brought this out. I'm happy to say that it tasted delicious in spite of its appearance!
Transparent watercolour magic
I had a go at really diluting my watercolours right down to capture the ghostly quality of sweet peas. It's a really expressive style that I'm enjoying very much and you will get to watch (and maybe even paint along) the process on Youtube on Tuesday.
Juicy Fruit!
I fancied diving into one of my books for Thursday's Youtube tutorial so we're opening up 'You will be able to paint with watercolour by the end of this book' and having a go at colour blends and some lovely loose watercolour fruit!
Camping on the beach
I had many requests for beach scenes, and for a camper van in the 'You pick we paint' requests so I've done a bit of both for this next Watercolour challenge which will be completed in three parts.
