Hi everyone, today's post is a response to those of you who asked for some specific help with some tricky to paint objects. I'm rather pleased that there was a real range of objects and even if none of these apply to you, I recommend having a go at them just to get yourself accustomed to the style of painting working on this small scale requires. It's more about simplifying the detail.

Anyway, enjoy this video. In doing it I hope you will all be raring to go for next week when we will paint the shelf IN FULL! It will be a jam packed session next week!

Welcome to all our new Patrons, I hope you're finding your way around my Patreon ok. Don't forget, you can always send me a message if you have any specific questions. Discord is by far the best place for comments and tips on any paintings you've done as a result of the watercolour challenges as you can post your pictures and see how each other are getting on.

If you are new to painting then I highly recommend going back to the first watercolour challenges and working through the first through to get your basic techniques going. Then you can pick and choose whatever you like!

This is a private youtube link which only you sweet pea and cherry blossom patrons have access to.

You will need

A separate piece of paper to practise these pieces.

an HB pencil

your usual watercolour paint set

an eraser

After watching the video...

paint along with me and pick up some helpful tips for painting on this scale!

Have a wonderful week.

Thank you Harriet, that was very helpful. A wonderful ukulele 🙏. An excellent tip on first drawing a central guide line. I wasn’t going to add the strap to my ukulele but after seeing how you did the one for the camera, I think I will. The bunny tutorial was also relevant as I can transfer the techniques to my teddy bear.

I swear Harriet, you put brush to paper, and magic flows out!

Yay, my blue bottles! Those look pretty much exactly like the ones on my mantel!
