Hi everyone! Thanks so much for all of your suggestions, I'm so glad I can fit as many in as possible. And I make a list of every single one so I've not forgotten you if you don't see it coming up each month on the list of tutorials.

This month on Youtube we are going to attempt to fit in

Hot air balloons

Quick bookmarks

August word art

Dahlias

Field of lavender

Stream, moving water

Summer icons

We will be finishing off the flower shop in the watercolour challenges and then moving on to:

Garden shed with veg and pots

Tile patterns

Emily Dunn

Or a nice hilly landscape

Sarah Bradfield

A layer of flowers, such as in a herbaceous border - all different shapes and colours- how do you sort the different greens?!

Priscilla Basilio

A field of lavender. And maybe just a field of green grass explaining how to make it dynamic and not just a big sweep of green haha cuz that’s what I do! 🙈

Kathy Bergsma

Deconstruction/simplification tips. For instance, I love your iris video. You also showed a very simplified version of an iris in another video of a floral arrangement. I was very impressed at how you simplified the iris!

Emelie Karnevi

August is the time for crayfish parties in Sweden which makes me think of crayfish or lobsters as a suggestion. 🦞

Valentina

I'm in Finland at the moment and I'd love to be able to paint the beautiful lake and forest... I can share a picture if interested! :)

Kerri Fair

Maybe vegetables in a garden or on a vine? We have lovely tomatoes in Midwest USA.

Jana

Something back to school or for teacher? Pack of pens/markers, an apple, letters of the alphabet, etc. On the flip side, I'd love to see your version of a Scarab Beetle - the green holographic looking version 😊

Jana

Also, a Ferris Wheel?

Kath Ledward

Hi Harriet I would love a scene with hot air balloon’s if possible 😀

Fatima

Lido, picnic basket/elements, violets+lemon tree

ABIGAIL G.

I’d love the hot air balloon idea too.. I’d also love to paint a red miniature poodle! Thank you so much!

Kelly Mansulich

Dogs- gave no idea how to approach fur and make it look realistic.

Sally

For a quick one perhaps, some ideas for book marks? Would make lovely gifts.

Kathrin Dieter

I would love to paint a creek or a waterfall or a fountain.any sort of flowing dynamic water.

Kathrin Dieter

I also like the idea of the Lavendel field

Christina Noel

I tried to search your YouTube for these since I’m somewhat new - how about dahlias? There are so many varieties and so many small local pop up farms happening. Basically dahlias are having a moment here in New England. I have a friend who started her own tiny little stand selling her dahlias and she said her little dahlia flowers will be ready in August. So a great month.

Susan C Terris

Flying swallows - cliff swallows, barn swallows, or tree swallows.

Robyn Mills

I like the ideas mentioned also sme Small animals like mice, turtles, baby owl, baby seal etc….

Anne Reece

Thank you for letting me join you. I would love to see you paint a passionflower (passiflora).

Beate Spindler

I love your animal paintings - and would be very keen on a collection of pets such as a guinea pig, a budgy and other cuties.

Jemma Toller

A little patchwork landscape of fields & hedgerows?

Cheryl Gibbs

I'd love to paint a collage of colorful Summer icons--a piece of watermelon, a beach ball, a striped innertube--flotational device (as we call them here in America), an ice cream cone, a juicy slice of orange, a picnic basket with a red and white gingham table cloth, sunglasses, a bottle of suntan lotion--well, you get the idea! What fun!

Tammie

May I suggest a stack of books, with a cup and a pair of eye glasses, please? A variety of pastries, in detail, could be fun; 1) birthday cake with layers, candles, and fun colors, 2) cupcakes with various holiday toppers, or 3) fruit tarts.

Kathrin Dieter

I would also love to work on tiles. I would love to learn how to paint the mediterranean or medieval ones. I can provide pictures.

Rachel Berry Gallahair

What about numbers with florals around them like your monthly lettering tutorials.

Megan (Megabyte)

I'm very happy to hear that Ant is well again. I had Covid earlier in the year and it wiped me flat. I hope he doesn't have any long term ill effects. I'd love some help with Australian Flora (Wattle, Bottlebrush, etc) because my brain just goes flat when I look at them, but when I paint from your tutorials it all just makes sense and then I can't work out why I couldn't see it! :D

Megan (Megabyte)

There is a series of videos on Dogs & Cats in previous challenges :)

Kate Tully

Dragonflies, water landscapes (not beaches) ponds, rivers, waterfalls, etc. please

Teri Kozeluh

Something from your book, which I have arriving tomorrow. I love your videos!

Carol Barnard

A stained glass window would be nice.

Hi Emily, we have a nice lilac bouquet in the flowers and foliage playlist on YouTube

We've got a good white building tutorial in the Watercolour challenges on Patreon where we do a white ornate townhouse.

We've got some good wall painting studies in the early watercolour challenges

Hi Jana, I have a lovely scarab beetle project in my second book, Birds, Bees and Blossoms

de Winton Paper co.

I've got a lot of dog and pet painting watercolour challenges on Patreon which would be good to look at. On YouTube I've got a few in the illustration and Christmas playlists

de Winton Paper co.

I'll be honest Anne, I'm a bit scared of Passion flowers! But I'll certainly add to the list

de Winton Paper co.

Oh yes this would be great fun. I think this would work best as a watercolour challenge

de Winton Paper co.

He's good thanks Meg, feeling very grateful there were no long term effects. I'll have a look at these flower suggestions!

Kathrin Dieter

Oh great! Thank you so much! I’m really looking forward to learn this!

Anne Reece

I’d love to learn to paint metals - silver, gold, copper - using non-metallic watercolours.
