Hi everyone, I thought it might be fun to do a watercolour challenge that we could complete in a single session. This is a nice study in still life, perspective and shadow and it links thematically to our coffee shop we've just painted!

You will need:

A compass

watercolour paper (mine is A5)

pencil and eraser

washi tape to hold the paper in place.

Colours I used: Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre, Moonglow Buff Titanium, Paynes Grey, French Ultramarine Blue

Brushes I used: Large pointed round size 12, Rigger Brush size 0, Pointed Round size 2,6.

Dont forget to share your work on Discord and Social Media using the hashtag #dwpcchallenge

Hi Harriet, thank you so much for the tutorial. I feel it would be a nice painting on a postcard. I noticed you had used Moonglow and Buff Titanium. They are Daniel Smith colours, right? Do you think you could do a palette update?

This was my first challenge to paint in nearly "real time" with you Harriet! Once it dries and I rub out my pencil lines, I will post it up!

Loved this! Thank you! It was very nice to be able to fit this into my breaks while working! : ) makes for a great work-life balance! Thank you

That would be nice. I also noticed Imperial Purple hehe. Looking forward for an update from Harriet ❤️

Hi, I am hoping to try this one soon (I just joined). But I don't have buff titanium. What could I use instead? I have a basic WN palette with cool and warm primaries. Thank you!
