Hi everyone, a very happy new year to you from my new studio! I will be doing little tour on Instagram stories later so head over there to see some more!

Today I'm starting with a mixing masterclass for three colours I've recently added to my palette that you might not have.

Buff Titanium

Moonglow

Mayan Blue Genuine

This tutorial shows you how to mix these colours using the more readily available shades in your palette. Have a go and hopefully you will get shades like mine! I know we are all working with different brands but this should be an excellent framework to start from.

We will be starting a new project next week!

Is cobalt turquoise a mixture of cobalt blue and turquoise? That’s what I usually mix but not sure it’s right. Thanks for this helpful tutorial. Learned about moonglow!

I think if you mix it and it makes the colour you're hoping for then it's perfect! I'm not entirely sure of the makeup of Cobalt turquoise though

I found this tutorial very useful. I do have the colours but if I should run out it’s great to have the colour mixing to fall back on.

This is so amazing! I just join this patreon I don’t have cobalt turquoise to mix instead I used turquoise and made it darker. I could get a similar color .

Wow, 🙌 NAILED IT !! 🤗🙊🫡

I didn’t have cobalt turquoise but my cobalt teal came pretty close in about a 50/50 mix with the Payne’s Gray. Great exercise.

Is there a list somewhere of the pallette of colors she likes to use in her tutorials?

Harriett, What brand of Paynes Grey do you use? I like the bluer version you have.

Anna Rofes

I have buff titanium & moon glow but not mayan blue and I could get it with just paynes grey and turquoise, pretty easily!

jennifer

WOW I really thought they were going to be much more complicated!! excellent lesson!!

I am a new member and new to painting, I can barely draw, but I am loving the tutorials! Thank you for doing mixing classes! I have a Winsor & Newton payne’s gray and it is definitely more to the black side, however my paints are the cotman (student level) so there’s that 🙂 I used prussian blue and a touch of ultramarine (I really want some french ultramarine) as I have no turquoise yet, and it was pretty close, as far as my computer screen goes anyway 😃
