A Serious Conversation - Patreon Fees (Patreon)

Greetings Team,

We wanted to take a moment explain that as of December 18th, Patreon will begin shifting their fees.

What this means for creators is that instead of being hit with a fee for 7-15% of our income (it varies), Patrons will be charged a little bit more to reduce this uncertainty down to a flat 5%. On the surface this helps Creators, but as a Patron this can be intimidating/annoying/spooky.

While many individuals are expressing concerns about this change and trying to see if it can be prevented, we need to be prepared for it. So we wanted to take a moment to explain how it will directly impact you personally in the coming weeks if this comes to pass.

The fee is 2.9% + $0.35

If you're with us at the: 

$1 level, you will be billed $1.38

$5 level, you will be billed $5.50

$10 level, you will be billed $10.64

$15 level, you will be billed $15.79
