A Turbulent Month (Patreon)

We had big plans for October. We wanted to be active every day, reaching out and posting, and preparing for the launch of The White Vault's new season, but we've been a lot more quiet than intended. While we started with near-daily releases and a plan to showcase something new every day, things changed when we received a phone call that had some less-than-ideal news.
We moved to Germany two years ago with Eezo, a backpack, an accordion that resembled a backpack, two rolling suitcases filled with clothing, and a box of electronics we rely on to work. Everything else we owned was stored in Oregon. It awaited the month of October 2023 to be shipped over while we settled in to a new country. Literal years of planning were on schedule... until we received that curious phone call at the start of the month.
Ring ring: It was the moving company. We were told that all of our possessions, which were on their way to Germany via cargo container, might have been damaged in an accident. Apparently a fire had broken out in a nearby container (not ours), and perhaps some of water might have leaked into our container. This had happened a week ago, and we were just learning about it now. We were informed we might need to purchase a new mattress, as our Brentwood Crystal Cove Double-Sided Flappable Mattress (Dark Dice folks will understand the joke here) took one for the team and hopefully kept the water from damaging too much more.
So, we waited with bated breath, compulsively checking our email for updates every few minutes as hours turned to days. Our belongings had been dropped off in Panama by the ship, left in the sun without any form of climate control. We called regularly, but our moving company was denied access to our container, which we feared might be grow mold in that time...
Days turned into weeks, and ~two weeks after the initial incident the container was finally moved to a climate controlled environment and the insurance company sent people to open the crate... Here the picture cleared up, and got worse. They stated that the container was completely flooded, virtually watertight like an aquarium for the entire time, and this weekend we confirmed that everything we own was destroyed in a "total loss."
Yes, it's "just stuff," but it was also the physical collection of our memories; the objects for which we had attached keen fondnesses and loves from our lives: photographs, everything from our wedding, music instruments, original artwork, handwritten letters, journals, holiday trinkets, Eezo's dog beds, Christmas stockings, Mezuzahs, jewelry, hand-painted D&D miniatures, every book we've owned, childhood mementos from deceased loved ones and pets. Gone. All of our merchandise, notes, outlines for future stories, and original artwork. It's all gone.
We had planned to move into a new home this weekend, but as we lack furniture or an insurance payout, this too is delayed while we rush to find the things we'll need. Which is pretty much everything.
We are simply asking for your understanding and patience while we go through this difficult point in life.
In an effort to move forward and rebuild, we are making a few very immediate decisions
We will not be recording Bonjoros (1-1 videos) for new Patrons until after life calms down. Est November-January. Those from this period of time will not get a video and we're incredibly sorry.
Our release schedule for October has been impacted, and some of the surprises we had in store need to be delayed.
The Kickstarter for Unnatural Horrors has been delayed until further notice.
The launch of The White Vault, and its release schedule has not been delayed.
We will always work to tell our stories. Even with this happening, we are safe, we are together, and we are creating. In this we are lucky. Thank you, and all the best,-Travis, Kaitlin, & Eezo
