Listening to Goshawk. I heard all White Vaults and I always recommended you to friends. But not anymore. To me, you really crossed a line. Hearing someone being tortured. That his loved one needed to hear that live over the radio. Another person being dragged off to her death while incapacitated. She knows she will be killed, she is fully conscious but she can't move. Her best friend having to watch that, not being able to do anything. Is this your idea of fun? What monsters do, monsters do. Safely in fantasy. A monster killing someone quickly? No problem, that's what they do. But these things are done by humans. Every day. Even as we speak someone is being tortured. The thing is, it is not necessary to tell the story. It is not needed for the atmosphere. You create top notch productions which match the best of the world. Simple as that. So why do you need this? The White Vault and Don't Mind Cruxmont are working fine without it. Also it is not fot a cause, to raise awareness for something. It is completely useless and not necessary. Let me be the one to bring the message to you: it is pretty sick stuff you deliver here. Obviously you don't see that yourself. What is it with you, did you spend too much time in a horror drama universe or something? I am not complaining about my situation, what I fel when I hear it. Also I am not here talking about taste, I enjoy all kinds of twisted and kinky things as long as it has a little playful element. But his... this is not healthy anymore. To me it seems sadistic. Creating pain, death and humiliation to the max and seeing how far you can take it. And the sad thing is that you seem to be enjoying that. Otherwise you would not do it to this extent because it is not needed to set the atmosphere, paint the world and tell your story. I don't need people with that attitude. Especially now when you know better.

Greetings EJ, First, I'm sorry that our story did not land well with you and negatively affected you. It's not our intent to make anyone feel bad when listening to our stories, but rather to engross them in fictional horrors so they can forget their own IRL worries. These fictional hardships shape our heroes & stories, and outside of The White Vault we put CW's on every episode of every show for that purpose. In response to your comments, I feel that it's a bit unfair to state that this season is any more visceral than other stories we've told, or that we've gone further. Even within the White Vault, where people are pulled into the darkness unwillingly to their gruesome deaths, their organs and teeth ripped out while they're still alive, we've certainly gone further before. From WTF factor to psychological/physical horror. I also feel like the monsters are/were human enough to where drawing the line at 'is it human' isn't as big a deal for us, as humans/humanoids are the (brutal) antagonists of many stories, fictional and real. We tell stories of (hu)man vs nature, man vs monster, man vs self, and man vs man - with equal gravity and intensity. That being said, the actors we worked with this season were directed live, which contributed to the performances themselves being perhaps more emotionally charged than in previous seasons - especially for the two scenes you referenced. The directing side is something we're still quite new to, but in terms of the show's content, which is your complaint - it doesn't feel any more extreme than what we've done in the past. -- Spoilers below for WV S 1-5 & miniseries -- Miniseries Examples: Avrum - Genocide, historically accurate and terrible - depictions based on firsthand accounts of Jews being murdered by Cossacks. The opening is Avrum losing his entire family and it only gets worse for the 13 year old boy, though a few supernatural horrors are also present. Artifact - The darkest story we've ever made. Marion's nightmare, and the outcome of the story. Iluka - Franko's transformation. Echoes - The murder. Arguably not that bad by comparison to the above, but still human vs human cruelty. The White Vault examples: S1. The final scene. S2. Walter's final video tape. Jonas' letter to his girls, and subsequent moments - where he's scared, alone, and his skin is peeling/ripping off. S3. Lukas' goodbye to the doctors - human vs human. Simon's terrible entombment and emergency surgery. Dr. Ureta checking out mentally and just 'walking away' to never return. Eva's brutal descent. S4. Maheer meeting Dr. Liu. Maheer's gruesome body cam footage. Eva's realizations & goodbye. Graham finding Rosa. S5. The PTSD research crew in Svalbard. All psychological tortures afflicted against Graham during the season. Graham's realization and goodbye. The Doc's goodbye to Graham. Dr. Guererro's revelation and note to her husband. Similarly, VAST Horizon has Nolira kidnapped by terrorists and tortured, attempting suicide at multiple points, and being being forced to continue her life. This is the story of her new beginning, and almost every episode explains why she's working so hard to leave her past behind. Dark Dice also goes to some dark places, but ultimately the path they take forces the protagonists to grow and evolve. Again, I'm sorry that this story hit you the way it did, and wish you a better week going forward. -Travis

Been a big fan for many years of WV , finally catching up on Goshawk, unfortunately after 12 episodes just can’t listen to the wilderness story in Maine anymore. The story development with the Family, artifacts, guardians are getting really interesting, the music and acting is better than ever but whereas Previous seasons had difficult situations and brief moments of violence, horror and even depictions of gore, the Maine story resembles psychological torture porn -that the focus is extreme emotional reactions and distress over everything else. The last 6 episodes have been near continuous emotional hysteria, shrieking, screaming and sobbing, driven by human sadism and cruelty, it’s exhausting. I figure that there is going to be a supernatural undercurrent to it at some point but after the entire first season of Goshawk there was literally only a whisper of it, however unlike other seasons it doesn’t feel like it’s the focus this time. Still a listener, I’ll just skip ahead. X

So is Amelia "just" a devout or is she a weird mutant 3rd thing? Also, now I *need* to know what happened to the other Iluka survivours.

I've loved pouring over these transcripts during re-listens <3 I have some auditory processing issues too sometimes, so they're really useful if I think I've mis-heard something.

The transcripts are important for so many reasons with our shows, and we're happy to make them available!
