Do you think Windom Earle (Twin Peaks) has anything to do with Whyndam Lewis?

Another great one, MJ, and thanks for taking the time to develop a long and thoughtful answer to my question. I'm not so familiar with Eliot or really any poetry at all, but I'm eager to read your thoughts on The Waste Land (which I only read for the first time after last week's episode). Also, could you link us to that thermodynamic paper you were talking about? I've never heard any theory like that, would love to dive into it. Addressing the notion that an ordered totality is a snapshot or slice of a more discorded state, it seems to me that Joyce's totalities were man-made structures composed of other man-made structures. For example, the evolution of various deities as the characteristics and stories associated with them are passed down/translated/mistranslated/etc. But of course, these deities were made to represent natural phenomena that may have real, objective existence. Therefore, a true, non-broken, Spinozian, naturalistic totality may be defined by a continuum of these man-made totalities, i.e., it's not the slices but the thing that we're slicing into which is the real totality. The honest totality may be a superposition of dishonest totalities. Just a thought. I'll end by saying that, from what you said about Pound's final cantos, it seems like he had great faith in a more fundamental totality than the kind European facisim had offered.

Morphine is a nice warm thing.

Hey big Mike, can you link that dissertation again? I’m currently getting into Eliot because of you and trying to build a knowledge base since he’s so ingrained in lit and always referenced. I always thought he was a monolith and I’m self taught and admittedly not the brightest- so would be appreciated. Thanks for everything brother.
