I'm melted on back pills, we, as a nation, are getting more and more openly Nazi at a startling clip, and everything is pretty fuckin' horrible.  Meanwhile: I owe a certain fan a certain episode, so as long as I'm still technically alive, let's get to singers with their heads cut off, floating across the Atlantic to the United States, where they'll live forever in cantabile agony.

I think the moral of the story of Orpheus and Eurydice is about what hell is: doing the same thing over and over again to no end (temporally or productively). So like, Orpheus going all the way to the underworld to basically undo Eurydice's death is like a prefiguration of his inability to not look back. She dies again and we relive/retell that moment forever and ever, if only he didn't, why did he, etc. Also, I think it's kinda Ziggy how after Orpheus lost Eurydice he swore off women and only had sex with men, inventing homosexuality.
