if there's a way to put this thing on 'pause' so I can retain the same subscribers, etc., without making all of you pay me for nothing while I try to fit my brain back into my skull?

M Bialystock

I’m happy for you to go on “paid leave”, as it were.

M Bialystock

If not, it’s possible that you could have the payment set to “per item of content” rather than “per month”, and just not make anything until your brain’s back in the right spot.

Yeah, I can only speak for myself, but this show has helped me more than I can say, and I’m constantly going back to relisten to episodes. I’d definitely keep supporting the Patreon into the future even if you need to take a break from the show, no matter how long that break might be.

Mike Bilbe-Taylor

Happy to keep supporting you, Michael. I've still got a bunch of your shows to listen to!

Agreed. Your insights have changed the way that I contextualize reality, which is a rare and beautiful thing. I'm happy to keep throwing a little money your way while you deal with that brilliant brain of yours. I am guessing most of this wonderful, compassionate group of people that you've gathered feel the same. This is not just my favorite podcast, but one of my favorite pieces of art that I have come across. How do you even monetize something like that? Do what you gotta do, its pretty clear that everyone here wants you to thrive. I will be here waiting for that L. Ron Hubbard episode.

Tribulation 49

I’ll keep with you, take as long as you need. I’ve just restarted from 67 so have plenty of episodes to get through (again).

Tribulation 49

I’ve also got to agree with this, the episodes are art to me & I know that’s going to be draining, notwithstanding the production etc.

Benjamin Robinson

For the record, I’d like to continue my support even if there are no shows during a hopefully temporary hiatus.

Falling Man

Am happy to keep supporting you, Michael. Your show has introduced me to art and enhanced my appreciation in ways I could never imagine. And beyond that, it's helps me to know a person of your soul, brilliance, and moral convictions is out there living, so I hope you can keep doing so and find some kind of peace and comfort at the same time. In the world as I perceive it, so many bright lights are extinguishing, so I value ever more those who remain to share this existence with me. I would certainly understand if you truly want to end the show because you've accomplished what you set out to do, but I hope it's more the case that you continue to generate ideas and are in good enough mental condition to feel like you can do them--even on an ad hoc basis. Finally, I've read all the comments folks are posting and certainly echo them in general.

ill gladly stay subscribed while you take care of your inner wellness king, you have an amazing archive that i need access to as well so you dont worry about making new eps until youre ready and i speak for everyone when i say this show is worth remaining a patron of

Agreed with the other responses. Happy to keep paying while you take a break. I've got a lot of old episodes to go over which will be more that my money's worth.

Robert

Yeah dude keep the bill running - I'm supporting you not necessarily the podcast.

Dangus

Im so so glad to keep paying you regardless of if there's new content or no content. What you've already provided us all is worth so much more than I could ever afford to pay, but I'm more than happy to continue to send what I can, indefinitely. I truly hope you find some kind of relief or method of coping that makes life bearable sometime soon.

You should broadcast your mental disarray mulldog style. It'll be great for mental health awareness

Agreed with all of the above. Happy to keep supporting while you take care of yourself.

BobbyMilk

I’ll keep supporting you...break or no break...podcast or no podcast....like the guy said above...”paid leave” my man.

I agree with the above sentiment. I think it's great that you are concerned with this (shows a lot of thoughtfulness on your behalf, which isn't a surprise,) but I don't mind paying you. So take a few months off, get some rest, and recharge your brain/heart. You've earned it.

You’ve produced plenty of content worth revisiting, or in my case, exploring. We all wish you well and are happy to support you in the interim.
