Well, son, life is like one of those little two-seater planes – say a Cessna, or a Piper Cub – and the purpose of life is to crash-land so badly that you pierce the Earth's crust and become the Village Idiot of Hell

Just listened to this one. Thank you for sharing your experience with addiction. I'll always contend that you are the most honest person I've ever heard and in a world of bullshit, I greatly appreciate you. I'm not trying to compare my struggles to your's, but when you mentioned sleeping pills it made me want to share. I've had insomnia ever since I was a kid. Currently, I am prescribed gabapentin and Ambien before bed each night and while I know it is not the same as natural sleep, it provides me a level of stability I need. Otherwise, I would be a non-functional zombie. I had to be hospitalized for lack of sleep and it was hell. Anyways, thank you for all you do. I think you're a brilliant person and that is not just blowing smoke.

First comment. I dm’ed you Michael. Touched with fire. Thank you for your work on addiction and self-medication here. Don’t worry about your periods of absence. You have my vow; I will support you. Love, to you, and the other listeners. Te amo, Arden

I’ve always loved this podcast but these most recent two episodes really make me feel like I stumbled upon an absolute gem. I am so grateful to you Michael for all your work, and this series about addiction is/will be incredibly enlightening. Thank you for your unapologetic authenticity. For what it’s worth I am glad you are still here fighting on and using your life experience to help others.
