knew you had my back boss, dropping new shit the day I finally get covid

Hank

Hang in there boss

Sean

My alcoholic dad went to inpatient rehab for like 6 months then killed himself a month after getting out. Fucked me up! Never really stopped to think that he never actually got the help he needed. Fuck.

Justin Reid

Woke up this morning needing to listen to Elliott on the way to work. Once again the currents of fate bind us together

glenn mohre

I was there with you for the "knock on wood" punchline. Well signaled.

Howell

Your Robert Lowell dig reminded me of a dumb joke I came up with during a poetry reading. I leaned over to a friend and did my best Dangerfield: "Now they got people doin conventional poetry. Ever hear this stuff? Terrible. Can't stand this Robert Lowell. You know why he called it 'Skunk Hour'? Cuz it fuckin STINKS, folks!"

Marshall N Armintor

That was beautiful. Grateful you are continuing to do all of this important work.

Danielle

The last song I could play start to finish on the piano was “In the Lost and Found.” Don’t push yourself. ❤️

Jake Lodwick

😢 Thank you for sharing 🥲

John Waaben

Rest up champ- thanks again for your work

Shiv

Dear Michael, if there’s one thing we listeners know it’s that you don’t want to share your personal business for content!! I hear the struggle and hope you continue to hear us thank you for pushing past this feeling! bc ppl need help and I truly think you are offering it 💙

Keenan

Oof, just listened to this after hearing a bunch about how my local government is pushing really hard to get a rehab facility to deal with the opioid crisis

The Cheerful Comrade

The MMS thing kindof rings in my ears of that drinking bleach covid cure. It kindof echoes.

Biels Nohr

Hey Mike have you considered making an appearance on The Adam Friedland Show? I feel like your unique brand of center-left social satire would fit in well over there

spouter

YO, DO NOT FUCKING KILL YOURSELF, brother. You just got clean. Just wanted to make sure I said that to you. 35 is not supposed to be your life expectancy.

Renee Leath

Your life means something to others, even when it doesn't mean anything to you. I know that materially changes nothing, and I'm sorry for your pain. Maybe there is some small dignity in knowing your words help your listeners every episode?

Justin Reid

The theme song makes me weep every time. The feeling of listening to it reminds me so much of the ending of Lars Von Trier’s MELANCHOLIA. I feel so thankful to have your words and voice in this “final turn” MJ. We love you

Pear Is A Patsy

Really appreciate your frankness about addiction and suicidality. The part about how you KNOW that people who don’t wake up and immediately get bombarded by thoughts about a noose will never really relate to you resonates with me. My shit has been all fucked up for years but recently it’s reaching an unbearable boiling point as i’m becoming an “adult”. Some days I know I want to live but the long periods where I just cannot stop my mind from thinking itself into oblivion take over more often. Just wanted to say these episodes do help me and others with our own bs and I know it takes a lot to vocalize this shit to anyone, let alone a crowd. Keep hanging in there MJ

Justin Reid

Never more, the whipping boy.

Samwell Ganges

Hey man, I just subscribed and you've provided more shit to get me through the day for this $5 than any blast of caffeine I've bought at the gas station has. Thanks dude.

Nic Bodiford

I appreciate you and all that you do!! I am cackling in my backyard at the Robert Lowell line.
