Despite everything you were going through while recording this, your message was still delivered with much more clarity and honesty than anything produced by the ~50, 60 years of neoliberal domination of American “academia” and mass media. Ran out of Effexor last week (thanks to a combination of my own inaction and the state of healthcare in our beloved 4th Reich) and it fucking sucks, but it was maybe 1% of the shit you endured to give us this episode. Don’t ever feel like you owe us anything. Take the time off when you want. You’ve already given us so much more than we deserve. ❤️

I like your rubric of understanding post WWII history as essentially the fourth Reich reigning supreme. I've recently added to that in my thinking that the broader system of understanding the world can be better understood as simply a refinement and elaboration of the concept of slavery and domination. One of the neat little means of inflicting this is of course pharmaceuticals and drugs. So much of the anodyne everyday horror of modern capitalism makes a lot more sense when you realise it's not just cash money people are driven by accumulating, it's being able to exact some kind of enslavement, some kind of coercion over others.

I can only relate via my stupid stupid decision to go cold turkey off of Paxil. It was horrible. I felt like there were electrical charges running through my body. Don’t be so hard on yourself brother, even in the state of mind that you are currently in, you are still a sharp emmer-effer with an obvious heart of gold. I thoroughly appreciated this episode and give you all the credit in the world for having the wherewithal to pull it off while struggling such as you are.
